What VIN# is pre production R6P and value?
Does anyone know what VIN# ended the pre production R6P cars? My VIN# 165XX, I don't remember the last 2 numbers. The obvious differences in R6P cars is no rear parking sensor, I have the GM Performance badge under the hood. Does anyone know what other differences there are between standard production cars and R6P cars?
Just because I'm curious, what is the opinion: Do you think R6P cars will be worth more than standard production Camaro's in the future? Russ |

I'm pretty sure there are non R6P 2SS/2LT cars without the sensors.
There were a few "changes" during 2010 Addtion of rear sensors on 2SS/2LT No more GM chicklets No more GM Performance Division badge

Rear sensors where an option that didn't come out until 2011. They had nothing to do with R6P. To me I wouldn't want an R6P car because these where the most problems. They have no other options other than being R6P which really means "Look at me I had the first one out" which to me means "Great you got the one with the spoiler falling off, Battery cable problems, transmission problems, paint problems and so on. I wouldn't want a real early one. I was almost one of these guys but luckily for me my dealer messed up my order so I ended up with a later 2010 which has been problem free.

from my experience R6P (Early Order Entry Activity) is not so much based on VIN as when you ordered your car. they had sold orders and retail stock orders rolling down the line at the same time... Only sold orders got the R6P order code.
Good example. some people on here have vins under A9101000 (#1,000) and they are R6P i almost bought a black 2SS coupe that was R6P and A9139696 (#39,696) HOWEVER. my 2LT coupe was built the 2nd day of retail production but was a stock order so it's NOT R6P (A9100165) (#165) I think there were somewhere between 17,000 and 20,000 R6P cars altogether.

Check your window sticker for "Early Order Activity"
Or check the order code label in the trunk

It means the car was ordered before production started. You also got a "Welcome Package" from GM thanking you for ordering. It came with a sketch by Sang Yup Lee that had your order code on it.

I don't remember the cut-off date, April ??, 2009. Cars ordered before production started all got the R6P code. A cool thing, but probably not going to make it rare enough, desirable enough to make it more collectable for many, many years.
