i took mine out to the track yesterday and ran a 1/4 mile in 14.51 secs in horrible conditions. I wish it was faster though but granted, i was racing against zr1 corvettes and super charged mustang and camaros. I was getting smoked out there.

I only supercharged mine because i like that cute little whine it makes when I press on the pedal on the right...and it's never been past the speed limit...and I've never....oh, well, you all get the idea...

Were talking V6 speed, and there isn't an available supercharger yet for it...unless I've missed a lot in 9 hours

I remember the story too...your not making it up...but just not sure if thats exactly what the story was.

Yes there was a police plane, and a Camaro, and he was going fast...and something about no ticket...but wasn't really being chased by the plane either lol...if all that makes any sense!

However the story was exactly, no one really questioned it at the time.

Not sure about the choppers, but most LEO airplanes used for traffic spotting are small Cessna-type aircraft. Normal cruise speed is around 115 kts (~130 mph). In theory, if the aircraft had a strong headwind, its groundspeed could be relatively low, so I could see it having trouble keeping up with a 150+ mph car.

My wife has a 1ls and i had that thing up to 135 before i let off. It had way more to go but i ran out of clear road. I don't know what everyone is talking about a 118 mph speed governer on an ls but the wifes car sure as hell went way past that speed.

i remeber reading that they targeted him but that by the time they could get a officer on the ground to stop him they lost sight of the car and he had slowed down so they could not prove it was him. but glad someone else remembered it because it was maybe 4 months ago i read it. the guy was lucky.

The LS has a governor at 118, because thats all the tires on it are rated for. Did hers have a different set of tires put on it and the limiter removed at the dealer prior to sale?

If not, and if my LS truly does not have a limiter, then I will have to keep an even closer eye on my speedo when toying around with the triple digit mark. I would NOT want to find out what happens to a 5th gen when a tire fails above the century mark. Ive seen it happen to a 4th gen, and it wasnt pretty.
