I just ordered mine from VARARAM yesterday. I was told they wouldnt be able to ship it till next week. They are making a NEW batch and are all out. The ones they do have went to the G.M nationals. I am one picky MOFO and my intake best not look like that. Thats bullshift. It's called not taking your time and rushing just to fill orders. Company's need to stop following the fast food industry and take there damn time.

What you have is one that is in worse condition than normal. VR customer service is top notch though and they WILL take care of you. As far as the gap, as Paul mentioned, it's to allow some movement. IF the filter, rubber seal, and filter housing are snug then all is well.

As far as the brass fitting, I cut two barbs off of both ends of mine. IF VR is listening, I would like to see a different setup than the barbed fitting pushed through the coupler. Over time that will become worn and not seal very well.

Now fair warning. DO NOT put the VR on and drive around if you are planning on switching to something else, for better looks or quality of build. There is something addicting about driving with that intake on. Just sayin.

Oh and if you aren't happy with what you get from VR, I have something in the classifieds you may want to try. Shameless plug.

That is a pretty bold statement there hicompression, i will make one of my own. The reason that jobs are shipped over seas is so companies can profit more and add more to their bottom line. Those factories and disgusting and most dont have any health regulations. If the worker doesnt perform he probably just gets shot in the head and they find someone else. Yeah wow now thats pride!!

The best thing about Vararam is their ads. If the rear of the Camaro looked like that one, you'd be getting rear-ended all the time (literally or figuratively). Very nice, and not j lo.

I wouldn't be happy with that unit either the way it was shipped to you.

who gives a rats ass how the intake look. I dont give a F* as long as it does not cause any performance issue, but its your money, your choice, and your preference. Do what you think is best for you.

Looks like someone got lazy and didn't clean the intake up before shipping. Vararam will definitely give you your money back or send you a new unit. But I'm not sure you'll be happy with a new unit.

But one things for sure, I wouldn't trade my Vararam intake for any other intake on the market.

Wow! Imagine if you installed the VR not noticing all those burs and one got sucked up into the engine! I ordered my CAI last week from Jannetty and they shipped it the same day so I know they're in stock, well at least they were last week! Hope VR helps you out!

Like pretty much everyone else who has owned a Vararam (including several who have ALSO owned a CAI Inc, Halltech or other top performing brand as well), it simply comes down to performance.

You're right, the quality control on your unit is worse than normal, but even the best VR units do have some of these burrs and fitment issues. It will never be as gorgeous as an ADM or CAI unit. If great looks while your hood is open are your top priority, I would suggest you'll never be happy with a Vararam intake. However, if performance is your top priority, increasing your power at speed and decreasing your quarter mile times - those other pretty CAIs simply can't compare. I've seen those gorgeous CAI Incs on other cars and I wouldn't trade my Vararam for it if it was given to me for free.

Only you can decide which is most important for your car.

Yes, yes you would have a problem. You won't be performing as well. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you just won't.

Damn, straight. All you guys that want to come into a Vararam thread and crap on it that's fine, but you still don't have the best performing intake.
