All boils down to EVERYONE giving a damn; from Design to Production to Quality Control to Shipping to Merchandising and finally, to the Consumer. If any one of them is not on their game, everyone in the chain pays, one way or another.

What's the motivation: product or profit?

Thanks to those of you who care.

OP - VR does have the best warranty and I've used it. You've apparently caught them while they are away at an event which slows things down a bit. But if it's a refund you are looking for you will get that. They have two things in their favor, customer service after the sale and the performance.

I completely understand why you feel like you do. But I'm not understanding why you aren't allowing VR or Maryland to take care of this for you? Let them take care of it, get your CAI, and hopefully you will be happy.

You will be happy with the materials and the build quality of the CAI, with perhaps one exception. They use heatshrink tubing to connect the PCV fresh air line to the stock tube. I think that looks awful. If you remove and reinstall you will have to find another piece of heatshrink to fit. I would skip all of that and just run one length of 3/8 inch hose from the tube to the terminating end. fyi

Nether did i, So if you get a bad unit call the supplier/manufacturer direct and work it out with them, that's what ppl do, No come out and bad mouth a Product from the start.

No one is saying the unit you received was the best QUALITY but like all manufactured parts there are tolerances,

Your $40k car of my dreams
has tolerances, We have seen that in the rear strut tower.

If you don't like a Product most manufacturer will take care of it and so will the suppliers, Good luck what ever C.A.I. you end up with and i hope it fills all you dreams.

First off I have every right to badmouth anyone I want......and so do you. What I received never should have been shipped in the first place and apparently this has been going on for sometime from the feedback in this thread. Look at post 42.....do you really think a MAF is going to seal in that? Is this 2 completely isolated cases???? Do you really think that should have ever left any MFG that way? You say Tolerances? I'm a machinist and am well aware of tolerances as I deal with them everyday. Poor Quality / Workmanship has nothing to do with tolerances.

The only was a MFG will improve on there product is if people complain about what needs to be improved.

The real question is so you think leaving the radiator support bolts out is not Mickey Mousing?? Really??

WOW

So if you feel product is Mickey Moused you just install it anyway and never say anything? No offense but this is exactly why some MFG's never improve there products because the end users like yourself never speek up.

Modding a car is not exact science. There are ALWAYS things that come up and you must think outiside the box for a solution. It's never as cut and dry as you would seem to think. Just sayin. In this case the bolts are not needed at all. MANY have and are running without them or anything for that matter without issue. I chose to use L brackets as it was very easy to do.

It was the costumers product that they gave me to install for them, i told them at the time and was told that there OK with it so i did what they wanted.

All after market product's are a trade off with OEM product's.

I think the deal is you are new here, nearly all of your posts were slams despite VR and Maryland Speed offering to help. This tends to make some suspicious and feel you are agenda driven. Yes, based on your pictures, you have a right to be unhappy with what you received. But if you would allow VR to directly send you another intake, I'm sure it wouldn't look like the one you just got. They had to send me another and it looked great.

I am in no way agenda driven all I wanted was a top performing intake for my new car for a track day which is tonight. If you think my posts where slams then I guess thats your opinion. I design, machine, assemble, and ship my own product so I deal with people on a daily bassis and there is no excuse for what I received and if anyone thinks different then thats there opinion.

There are going to people product followers no matter what. Many people are loyal to a "Brand" these days.........I have no following I'm just looking for whats currently the "best".

If I though getting another Vararam intake would solve the fitment problems then I would but since it's a molded product there should be very minimal differences.

You need to go back and look at some of you post, telling ppl to notch a bracket for a catch can before you speak up, Its OK not to like some thing that is fine but you like adding salt to a thread when it serves you.
