This is true. But the "No-Tune" version, can be tuned as well.

How much hp would the no tune version get me with a tune. I plank on tuning after I get headers and not just a cold air intake.

Hey Bill, pretty sure I'm going with CAI Inc., but wanted to ask how much of a PITA is it to remove the CAI cover to re-fill the washer fluid and then put it back? 5-10 minutes or so or is it more complicated?

Less than 5 minutes. You just twist the quick screws, pop it off, fill up and then twist the screws back in place.

Without exageration, the lid should take no more than 30 seconds to remove, and thats taking your time. It is held on by 3 spring loaded 1/4 turn fasteners. Quick and easy! Let me know if you have any questions.

Won't that allow it time to heat up? Shortest most direct path with the largest opening to cold air makes the most sense. No bends. high off the hot pavement. All this is what Vararam is.

We have thousands of intakes out there on 5th gen Camaros. Please take a few minutes to read feedback from those with our intake. Our system is designed to perform well without a tune. It's very user friendly to install, performs well and looks great. Also, you get a great sound under acceleration while sounding about like stock under normal cruising conditions.
We have many options to customize to your tastes. Whether you are looking for performance, appearance, sound or all of the above-we can build the intake for you. If you have any questions, please shoot us a PM and we will get them answered right away.

If you don't count the HOT air coming off the radiator.

while driving the "hot air" is behind the radiator. The Vararam collects it in front. That is why the radiator cools the engine because cooler air flows thru it. Its about movement not sitting still.

I did lots of research before buying mine and I don't think you can really go wrong with CAI or Roto-Fab.

In the end I went with the CAI and love it. Fit/Finish is great and the lid does come off easily for when you need to access the washer fluid.
