Nervous about 2LT RS

Hey guys this is my first (of many) camaro-related posts!! Just wondering if I could get some input from some experienced researchers/buyers of the 2011 Camaro.

Ok ill get to the point...

I'm on the brink of financing a 2011 Camaro 2LT but looking for some opinions:

It has all the standard options on the 2LT as well as these add-ons.
-RS Package
-Sunroof
-Automatic Transmission

The sticker for the car is somewhere around $31,850 and they're discounting it to around $30,400.

If I put $15,000 down (including the price of my trade) I'm looking at a payment of about 370 over 60 months (financed of course!).

I love the leather seats as well as the sunroof and the RS package definatley kicks ass.

Bottom line....Is this a decent deal? From what I've read It looks about right but just wondering...

Thanks guys!

It is the wrong area, but that's about right. You're not getting ripped off.

Try to get the 1K GM assistance on top of that and you have really good deal.

This is about the same deal I got on mine.. Put down about 15k with my trade.. Ended up financing 48 months at 390 a month. I didn't get a sunroof , so it sounds like you are getting a smokin' deal !!

I paid $28.5 for my 2LT/RS (20" polished, A6, Sunroof, RS package) back in October 2010 (GM Supplier and the $500 60 day return) IMHO you can do better the 2011 model year is over. You should be able to get this car for invoice or under.

This is exactly the same package/car I have but it's a 2010. The price and discount look about right. used to work in the car business and was shocked at how little markup there was between the sticker and invoice. All the dealer's money comes from sales incentives, not profit between sticker and invoice. They will give the car to you to move a unit.

I still love my car!!! That is not typical for me so I'm sure you will be very happy with your purchase. However, in real life I manage a team of financial planners and advisors for a Fortune 200 company. DO NOT put $15k down. You would be better off investing that money in a conservative mutual fund that will earn more than the low loan rates out there. Then you skim the gains off the top of your money to make up the payment difference. In the end you will either have a paid off car for the same cost, or you will trade up to something else and not lose all that money in negative equity. Just my $.02.
