What's the use of having logos on those tips if it's not readable from the rear? Let folks know what you've got. (Maybe some installers will read this!)
Looks good! |

There have been issues with plastic melting with the GMPP exhausts. Its been a while and the pictures have been deleted or I put them up. But from what I've seen these came from misaligned tips that were set too far back. If your tips are centered correctly, you should be fine.
But GM did put a nice bowtie on there to bee seen. Here's an example.

Just a slight update: My dealer's service department can't get me in until Monday morning. Thanks for the pictures so far, please keep them coming. I will print out some of them to bring with me to show the service representative.
I do fear that they may have cut too much of the existing exhaust pipes so they won’t be able to adjust these properly. I doubt they will be willing to replace what they cut. |

I originally had a local garage cut off my stock exhaust and install my GMPP axle back..... I could barely see the bowties, they cut in the wrong place would be my guess because the attached pictures are after LT's and Borla mid pipes (same as Borla Touring cat back), they look awesome and are located where they should be, IMO.

The install instructions that come with the mufflers has a diagram of how far the tips should be sticking out from the diffuser. I beleive it was a MAX amount of approx 3 1/2 inch when measured at the bottom of the diffuser opening to the tip of the pipe. I can find the instructions for the exact measurement if needed.
Edit - Located instructions. V8 measurement is MAX of 3.42 inches when measured at the bottom of the tailpipe diffuser opening to the tip of the exhaust pipe. There was no minimum called out, only a max dimension. Appears based on this max dimension callout GM does not want the exhaust tips to stick out too far, not sure if this is to prevent melted diffusers or to avoid someone brushing up against the hot exhaust tip and getting burned. I think those directions were out-sourced...... gotta be ass backwards.... why would there be Bowties? Just found another post with this response ...... "I went thru the same problemand the dealer replced the diffuser & entire exhaust because the directions that came with the GMPP axleback had them cut the exhaust too far back from the original cans...had a hard time gettin them centered but all is good now...looks & sounds great IMO......and no more melting! The bowtie on the tips can even be seen now!" Your tips are wayyy too far in...... with a better chance of melting that way, and no bowties....... |

I think as long as they are centered between the cut outs just right there should be no issues. Should my rear plastic melt or exhaust mess up, the dealer can warranty it. As for now, no issues. I have plenty of bow ties right now to remind me it's a Chevy!

Nice picture from underneath of what I believe is a SOLO setup. This looks like it's perfect.

I agree with mpyle007. I followed the GMPP instructions to the letter and have no issues. I believe having the tip centered in the opening is key. My tips are located in approx the same location as mpyle007, I cannot see the bowties on the tips, nor do I want to.

How far the exhaust sticks out is really a personal preference. I like the way GM does it and I really don't understand how some of you have these tips sticking 6" out of the diffuser. That does not look good at all. |

Here are a few pictures that show them a little better. Hope you get yours the way you want them.
