I also want to point out that the last log I posted was "avg values" on my way home from work after my car was sitting for over 6 hours in the scorching heat and thats why you probably see the high numbers in the beginning. I tried to cool the car off as much as I could before logging, but if anyone want to see here are some more data from the same log.

The first are the "max values" or the hottest temp recorded, and the next one is the last temp recorded which mean is the "last value" recorded for that particular speed and rpm so this value are way after I left the scorching heat and after the car done went to normal temp. If there's anything else that you guys want to see just let me know. I'll be more than happy to log it for you.

Thanks guys, I remember the testing Screaming did with the Injen and was very impressed. Good to know! I remember how quickly the IATs dropped on the injen, hope the vararam will do the same

And for those wondering where everyone went with reviews and such. I believe 25 were shipped out of the list for some time, the rest of the 40 were shipped out friday as well as a few from the 2nd list. As for the first 25 members on the preorder list, there was alot of members who had very low post counts or even brand new members, could be why were not seeing many reviews. Oh well, expect mine friday

No, the thin wall large surface area of the aluminum disapates heat faster then plastic. It feels very hot if you touch it after you stop the car but the cool air coming in very fast obviously does the job.
I did the IAT relocate as MrRay did also just to see if I noticed a butt meter difference. He said his was running 7-8 deg's above at stock, once moving it went to 0 or so, and 10-15 I think below ambient once moving, after the relocate, but that was in the early spring. He did say a tad faster at the track and better on the street.

As for me I cant give any data, but it seems to keep the power up more as the car warms up and has been running, even in the 90 deg heat we have had, not like when its colder out but feels strong, its hard to explain. You also dont feel much power drop off as much and especially with the air on but thats probably due to all mods I have done together.A subtle change but not sure how much.

You aren't the only one that has noticed little to no lag with the AC on with the VR. I posted twice on it. Even raced on a back road once and the car pulled like it wasn't on! Also in this ATL heat of 95-98* noticed the car still pulling strong. And my temps stay 4-8* lower than what the radio says. Even had a C5/Club member "Camarokid300" ride a total of 4 hours friday with me and he was amazed also how the heat wasn't a factor and with AC on 3!

I had put the Vararam intake on Friday evening and so far have about 50 miles of easy driving on.

I thought these guys that hear the exhaust note drop were wanting to hear it and it really wasn't changing. But around 25 miles in I really did notice a change in the exhaust sound...even my wife noticed. It is very subtle difference but a good one.

The new grommets are a foam pad that can easily be smashed down when tightening the radiator brackets so I left the bolts a little loose and found one backed out and I re-tightened it. I may have to go to the hardware store and get harder grommets so I can tighten those bolts more and\or use the blue locktite.

In between rain showers I took it out today and noticed a whinning high pitched sound... so I pulled back into the garage and found that if I took off the oil cap that sound would go away. I'm wondering if the breather filter that is included with the intake is plugged..... Anyone else notice this???

I'm at the bottom of the second list but I'll post pics and reviews when I receive mine. I'll try to get a stock dyno in soon so I can compare before and afters.

I think the main problem here is that some of us are expecting way too much from this intake. At the end of the day its only a intake and it does its job well as a intake. By installing this intake.. it is not going to make you break world record, or make your car all of a sudden the fastest camaro in the country.

Rolnslo showed an official dyno of 25hp gain. VR their self advertised as 15-20. On their B/W instruction it say E38 and gain of 30hp and 30tq. I have no idea what thats about. Oue ecm is E69 and there might be a possibility of 30/30 gain but I highly doubt that claim.

No one as of yet been able to proof "independently" that the VR perform better than any other intake on the dyno or at the race track. So for anyone to say that VR is the king is obsolete.

At the end of the day.. its only a cold air intake guys. Buy a intake you are happy with and move on. There are alot more modding to be done than to be stuck on this one thing.

Some pics of my VR install, hope it helps. I have no issues.
I took a little more material off the bottom of the radiator bracket so the outside front edges of the VR doesn't rest on them.

The top of the rad leans back just 3/8", the width of the supplied rubber grommet and the wing. I didn't remove the hard plastic inner grommet from the bracket.

The top of the rad is stable just like from the factory.

The VR tube lines up flush with the TB with some play at the front.

No problems, it's called modding.

EDIT: Agree with bmore, it's just an intake and adding my last input till the fall.

Anyone have the temp log like bmorecam posted on injen?? I did a search but didnt see anthing while skimming on my phone. Im worried alittle worried here in living in az that the vararam would get heat soaked quick sitting in traffic. Thanks!!

Once I removed the breather that was included with the VM the pressure was removed... almost like a blow off. No more sound whinning sound. Auto parts store didn't have a replacement that would fit the line. Hopefully it doesn't hurt not running the breather filter for now.

GTO did you just file that extra bit off the radiator brackets?

Definately can tell by "Butt Dyno" car responds better. Exhaust tones are better and deeper. Seems to respond with very little pressure on the gas pedal.
Weds looks good for time trials, temp around 80 @ 6 pm. I will show all runs made with temps and time of day.
I am also checking mileage.
Will keep you up to date if you'd like.
