I don't think that the ZL1 is going to have a major impact on CAFE. The 5-6k units they sell per year won't really amount to a hill of beans on the number of cars they sell per year.

I like the way you think. I may not agree, but I LIKE it.

Anything north of the magical 600 mark would blow EVERYBODY away with extreme prejudice. Talk about buzz. (granted, 570+ blows most everybody away already)

Holy Crap Batman, this car is faster than the Batmobile!

500 will get me by long enough Eventually - 600 will be attained and I'll be happy with power. I have enough upgrades and not enough money to keep my busy until then, though, LOL. I just need to figure out an effective way to make that SC sing a little louder...

I just hope they continue not to restrict production so the dealer premiums will be kept at bay (well, from a few at least).

Exactly .. at first it is going to be crazy mark-ups, but if they can keep some production up it shouldn't last too long (We hope!!).

some will still charge at least 10k over msrp. ie deacon jones chevy in NC. they were doing that for just a camaro when pre-ordered a 2010.

It's not all about the power. It'll be interesting to see how the chassis on ZL1 will compare with the current improvements on the Phony. It would seem like it would be a wash, but time will tell. I have my own idea on how it will compare, but the numbers are going to be what matters. It's one thing to brag about power, but it's another to make use of what you're bragging about.
A friend of mine has a 2010 GT500 making over 700hp. But it can't hook for sheeot. So whats the point? I call him a "dyno queen" and he gets pissed.

Yep! Forget north of 570. Lets say north of 600!

Now, that is a GREAT GREAT GREAT strategy if GM does it. It would render the difference between 605 and 635-650 for the Mustang rather meaningless based on the other features of ZL1. Excellent Crowley. I agree.

I highly doubt it's gonna be over 600 horse power. Not saying I don't want it to be, that would be great, but thats too close to the LS9. Might as well drop an LS9 in there and forget the LSA. Being realistic, I bet it's between 575 and 585
