So was I. It doesn't. Works like a champ. The squashed critters wipe right off, no harm no foul. Had heard this on a few detailing forums. Thought they were nuts until I tried it myself. Now, the front is the last thing I wash. Dip in water bucket, wipe down, wash as per normal to remove the dryer sheet "stuff" and then presto!
Agree with the posters above, a lot of coats of wax and removing them ASAP is the best hing. |

5-8 coats extra on the front and spray detailer in between waxes works for me. They spray off in less than 5 minutes without even touching them.

I have to put my 2 cents in here......I would like to hope most or all of you know that the ACID in the bugs will; actually etch the clearcoat/pint on your car if you don't clean it off on a regular basis. As the OP stated, its a real pain in the butt to get off....Living in Texas, we have a lot of bugs, and at times we get the LOVE BUGS too.....This is a soultion to the problem and its cost you NOTHING....only about one minute of your time.
I took a hand towel sized MF towel, soaked it in water, folded it up and placed it a quart sized ziploc bag.....in the drivers door pocket. I drive about 20 miles to work everyday, first thing I do is get out the bag, open it up, and wipe the fresh bogs off the front of the car....followed up with a dry MF towel so theirs no water spots. WORKS LIKE A CHAMP. I have been doing this with my GOOD cars for about 15 years. its just a thought.
