Okay, you don't park next to the security guard cause they're just bitter wanna be cops.
You drive in every day with your beautiful car and he's thinking- "how the hell does that punk afford that car and I'm here helping people every day and I can't afford to take the bus?!! He's probably a drug dealer! Goddamn drug dealer driving around in a nicer car than I'll ever own. Someone ought to make him pay for all he's doing to our neighborhood!" So here you come every day with a smile on your face cause you have your car and that smile is just pissing him off even more. Still think you wanna park near him? Yeah, good idea, cause after the second week he's got your schedule memorized! Ever known a security guard personally? They're the kind of person who likes to watch cop movies with you and yell out- "oh man, he's doing it wrong!" As if working graveyard guarding the lot at the Piggly Wiggly makes you an expert on federal law and every enforcement procedure from the CIA on down. They are bitter and pissed off all the time. My suggestion? Get a good car cover with a lock. Park up top where no goes and cover your car every day. People will leave the car, trust me, punks will usually take the path of least resistance. Also go an extra step and get one of those locks that goes around the gas pedal. That way even if someone takes the time to remove the cover there's no way they're getting that lock off. And the cover will protect against every day dings. It's a little extra work but if that's what it takes to gain peace of mind so be it. |

You watch to many movies.
Park your car next to the security people. Get out of your car and maybe have a conversation with security and stop being a *****. Get to know the guy so he can also know you and maybe not stereotype you like you are towards him. A little bit of being nice goes a long way. Don't they have camera's? Find out where it's pointing to and park in view. Or just get rid of your car and walk!

Where I'm from you can snatch a nice running bearer for 500 bucks. Put it this way, I purchased a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee AWD V8 with 78k miles for 1,900. Came with magnaflow exhaust and an airade intake. Not a single scratch on this red beauty and I drive it everywhere while my baby hides herself in the garage. Jason |

When I went to college 11 years ago the lot was filled with Camaros, mustangs, a vette, several pick ups, and hundreds of economy cars. Everyone left the cars alone, and I was only time keyed when attending a football game at a rival school.

Buy a beater like everyone has said...
Or... don't go into the hood to begin with lol. If you MUST, you need park someone very visible where you believe an honest citizen would call the police. It can be visible, but if you are in a community that supports vehicle theft or burglaries then the point of parking by a security guard is mute. I can promise you they aren't looking behind their booth and they don't care about foot traffic if they are used to working in high crime area.

I have the same issue
I go to school in Detroit with my Ss and all I do is park it way up so no one can see it or ding it. The security dude at the gate seems to be pretty protective. I don't go around telling people what I drive because that's when they start looking to vandalize it. I tell them I drive a 97 civic and I have no worries
