I must say from experience that the factory system is junk..Better than some on the market but relatively junk for accurate reproduction of music in a car. That is why mine will be coming out in the future..I'm already desingning the new system..

That's why when I spent $500 on just front separates, I spent about $300 on Dynamat to do the doors, trunk, etc.

I can't really understand buying a high end sports car with a sound system that is on par with a Honda Civic (apologies to the Civic owners I just offended). Might as well put hub caps on it and say, "Well, the car still gets me from Point A to Point B... Now pass me the yams."

I did the same on my 97 Trans Am. I could run low 12s in the 1/4 and it still was as quiet as a Cadillac, getting 25 MPG on the highway, with the T-tops off and the AC on jamming with my Alpine system OK, I half lie. It was quiet until I bought and installed the Vigilante 9" racing torque converter by Precision Industries with a stall just over 3200 RPM (when the ProCharger was hitting around 8# of boost). That's some drone and whining I'll never complain about! At idle you could enjoy the audio just fine.

i work at a foundry that makes a lot of gm parts (they also make the brembo rotors on the ss). the parts say gm on them, yet gm doesn't technically make them.

but in my opinion, they are just tweeters. the BA upgrade is pretty much just a high end factory installed system. yeah, it sounds decent and i do like mine, but compared to a well designed aftermarket system, that upgrade is nothing. for what you pay for the upgrade, you can get an even better sounding aftermarket system.
