OK - I don't have the time to read thru this thread......I have other stuff that needs to be done..................

SOOOOOOOOOOO -- CALM DOWN!!!!!

NOW!!!!

It came off the line -- he drove it off the line -- it did NOT GO THRU INSPECTION BEFORE HE DROVE IT OFF THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!

HE DROVE IT OFF THE LINE -- -- he THEN drove it out to our enthusiasts -- drove it BACK INTO THE PLANT -- and it will go thru inspection!

I do not know if the door was open or closed - but I can tell you that we look for things like this in final inspection and they are corrected.

CALM DOWN!!!!

(....sorry - -but I keep getting emails all day long with the latest 'panic du jour' -- and I don't have the time to run over here every two hours.....)

CALM DOWN!!!

Let's go back to when SOMEONE leaked the first picture of a car without cammo -- remember the infamous white car?????........

THE WORLD WAS COMING TO AN END AS WE KNOW IT!!!!!! We were accused of everything including driving Teddy's car at Chappaquiddick and of course taking out Jimmy Hoffa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- and look at how you love the way the car turned out! How many people had strokes over a bad picture?????

I could list at least 6 dozen 'panics du jour' -- and EVERY ONE OF THEM was for naught............

CALM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot say why they didn't go over that one, but from the pictures it was still on the line, and the normal procedure is to wait untill AFTER the 400 are built to be able to do them all at one time, mainly because the folks that give the final thumbs up come from various parts of the country... That was told to me by My contact from GM on the Sky Forum, which I followed even closer than I have this one...

Ok..yep the door panel is misaligned. So were my Lexus GX470's when I got them. It wasn't the first off the line..and *GASP* Lexus took care of it when I noticed and mentioned it.

Move along people the only thing to see here is YET another POST by certain posters screaming about blah blah blah...telling us how this is somehow different from every other manufacturer out there. Sorry not buying it. I've actually owned the big boys of car quality - I've actually been head of product development of a manufacturer - I actually have some common sense - I actually am not a posting to hear myself screech.

Talk to me when it's about your own car, and when GM has told you to go f*** yourself. Then you might have something to bitch about.
Can we be friends?

Are those the real headlights??????? (Kust Kidding!)

This is why the Manufacturer puts the vehicles througha Quality check prior to release for shipping. even after transport to the dealer, there is a PDI Process for the Dealer to follow which preps the car prior to delivery to the Customer.

Scott is so right, Calm down folks.

Wait until it hits the showroom. Had this car been on the showroom, then heck yes, I would have raised a fit myself. Especially if it was the one I ordered.

Yes it has, and there is more being done to ensure quality on the Camaro than on the Impala, which is highly regarded by JD Power for its build quality.
Davin - this post is not fare. You know I cannot respond to it without upsetting a lot of people. You know you made a few incorrect statements above.

-The contrast of the orange accent against the dark trim could possibly be making it look worse than it is.

-Several members have attested that this is not an issue on other early VINs that they have seen.

Trust me, I also believe that the interior is the worse part about the car by far, and I wouldn't be pleased if my car showed up like this. However, more false assumptions are made on this board that run rampant and turn into 20 page b*tch-fests than any of the other boards dedicated to the car, and it makes us all look like a bunch of fanboy 4 year olds.

You know-it-alls need to stop pretending that your relatively limited knowledge and half-assed assumptions regarding the car bridge the gap to reality, because it doesn't, and it just makes you look stupid.

Wait until you see an actual production model in person and then continue to cry about it and if your fears hold water and talk yourself into buying something else.

First, understand that you are picking on the hardest part of the interior to get right.

Second, this car WAS NOT SHIPPED. I wasn't there, but I doubt very much Rick got in his car and drove it home. There are additional hurdles the Camaro must pass before one single car gets shipped.

Third, with all of the cameras and people hovering around the car, I am pretty sure that they avoided any chance to take the car off line to repair this, which your cars would be.

Fourth, none of the CTF cars have been built with the acrylic panels on the door and IP. So in order to get that right you are probably judging by the very first production car with ABL on the IP and Door Trim.

And last, this is another case of you guys have been allowed to know more than any other car and it's launch. So now you are taking that intimate knowledge and doing this??????????????? Come on now. Just stop.

And yes I agree FROM THE PICTURES this is probably out of specification.

So if you get your car and you don't like it - POST AWAY. But not this car, it was way out of process to have the owner walk the line with 100 fans and their cameras.

Belive me, when you get your vehicles, there should be no issues with the panels misaligning. IF by a slight chance there is, the dealer should correct it before you even see your new car.

BEFORE they will be released for full production. This is the way it is done on the start of all new GM cars. It is exactly what they did with the first 400, 2007 Skys that were built... Believe me this will NOT go unnoticed by the GM brass and engineers. You that are complaining are Jumping the Gun on this one.. Calm down and wait till we start seeing cars that ARE arriving at the dealerships...
Then feel free to blast away.....

These are a few of the best posts of this thread. It seemed that ArcAngel's are among the worst. I understand that you are upset about these pictures, but damn man... relax. Take a breath. Calm down. You've been sitting on this thread for hours, simply doing nothing except complaining when someone doesn't agree with you. I agree that those pics are horrible, but I also agree that this car was built under a lot of pressure (fans, cameras, etc) and it never got sent back around for full testing and any pre-shipping fixes that needed to be done. But you just absolutely refuse to accept this as a possibily for some reason... it's as if you just ignore them completely.

And I do agree that this kind of stuff happens way too much on this forum. Some little tiny thing gets blown way out of proportion, and all the sudden everyone acts like it's the end of the world. Well guess what? It's not.

Informative posts > assumption posts.

The end.

EDIT: there you have it... from fbodfather himself... RELAX!!!

Arcangel,

I'm on your side on this, thanks for your support in this forum and your concern. The mods should be tougher on those calling you names in my opinion who are trying to derail this thread..
