I'm not worried... if there is an alignment issue, the dealership will fix it before I will take delivery. I don't see it as that big of a deal. It's not like it can't be adjusted properly.

I am sorry if it looked like I was directing it at you; I really wasn't I left this thread open because I felt it was valid; but just really had a problem with comments made by many. Again - I did not mean for that post to come off that way

The first pic doesn't look so bad. Actually looks like a lot of the other pics people are comparing.

The 2nd close up shot simply looks like the door panel isn't PUSHED all the way in. It actually looks "popped" out a bit.

Hopefully they just didn't get it popped all the way in correctly.

SOOOOOOOOOOO -- CALM DOWN!!!!!

NOW!!!!

It came off the line -- he drove it off the line -- it did NOT GO THRU INSPECTION BEFORE HE DROVE IT OFF THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!

HE DROVE IT OFF THE LINE -- -- he THEN drove it out to our enthusiasts -- drove it BACK INTO THE PLANT -- and it will go thru inspection!

I do not know if the door was open or closed - but I can tell you that we look for things like this in final inspection and they are corrected.

CALM DOWN!!!!

(....sorry - -but I keep getting emails all day long with the latest 'panic du jour' -- and I don't have the time to run over here every two hours.....)

CALM DOWN!!!

Let's go back to when SOMEONE leaked the first picture of a car without cammo -- remember the infamous white car?????........

THE WORLD WAS COMING TO AN END AS WE KNOW IT!!!!!! We were accused of everything including driving Teddy's car at Chappaquiddick and of course taking out Jimmy Hoffa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- and look at how you love the way the car turned out! How many people had strokes over a bad picture?????

I could list at least 6 dozen 'panics du jour' -- and EVERY ONE OF THEM was for naught............

CALM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for calming us down and we all know GM will get this right. Becasue it does look bad. Can't wait for my car !!!

I agree with ArcAngel, isn't this a site where we're supposed to be able to talk about these kinds of things. Granted this thread did snowball a lot but that's that nature of most web forums.

See? Everything is better now. There was no way that someone from QA was going to look at that and say, eh, that looks fine. I really don't think it was fair to blast GM over this unless it looked like that at the dealership.

I'm with you as well Arcangel - assuming that the car did not go through final inspection, it should have gone through an inspection of somekind knowing that he was coming in to drive it.

The thread in the link above to me is a more important issue at heart than the problem with the panels in my opinion.. However every one of these issues is important and it is a healthy thing to be able to discuss it without name calling and so forth.. We got a message from Scott to calm down which means we at least got the message off about the issue. Since we got this message a few months ago, it seems nothing was done to correct the problem off the line. Let's hope this issue is fixed before it reaches the dealers...
