Some points to help!!!

I had the tech guy read thru all the install threads and he wanted to post this for you all.
General FAQ's

1. Fit front to rear - There is a variation of .24-.5 of an inch between auto and Manual cars. The auto is further forward.
We have moved the trim further to allow for even more variation.

2. MAF to throttle body - Does the unit have to sit perfectly flush? NO, The unit needs to be as flush as possible in this location. The unit can sit off the throttle body up to 1/16th of an inch . You will have some casting variation and flash on the OEM throttle body, so perfectly flush will not always be possible.

3. Bracket tabs- These are the little nipple tabs that stick out from the OEM bracket- simply use wire cutters and clip them off , a simple 2 - 5 second operation . We are added this step into the instructions now.

The unit is designed to use maximum plenum volume for the V-6's cross ram manifold, so every available area has been used.
The changes above should bring the system into the tolerance variation that we are seeing in the production cars. If a unit was tight the owners have said unanimously that 1/8th of an inch would make it perfect, so we have given you double that amount.

I'm really loving this intake! The appearance with an open hood is awesome! The performance is unlike anything else I've experienced for a bolt-on.

Russ came up to me at our 2nd Annual Meet & Greet Camaro Rally at Hare Chevrolet this past Saturday and he was checking it out and asking me questions on it. Even in hot, hot, Safari Hot temps like were having here in Indy with 93 degrees and heat index of 115, this thing is strong as hell and my car performs well.

Alright guys, so I took off my intake today and bust out the grinder. Took out alot of material of the brackets and got the intake to sit lower. For my intake, the rad needs to sit closer to the front of the bumper to get the intake to sit lower. After all those mods, I got key fob wiggle room which was great. But to ensure that it wouldnt raise. I found small square foam pieces similar to the ones on the inner fenders and placed them on the sides of the intake so it cant move too much but can a little. After ripping the car around, same route, which would usually cause the gap to close about 2cm or so, it moved only a bit. Still can get the key in there but its a tighter fit. With my new belly on the way, i think its going to be a great set up!

I did some trimming on my lower unit today. Cut about 1/8" off the end of the horn. The intake definitely sits better in there but still tight. I have good key FOB clearance and after a short hammer down run the intake only moved a bit and still had key wiggle room. I will run it for the next few days and see what it does. Since the initial installation I haven't noticed much increase in HP and my gas mileage has dropped. Not in the sense that I am pounding the throttle left and right but in the sense that I dropped 2-3 mpg during long trips. With the stock box I was getting ~30 and with this intake 27.5 mpg. I hoping the next few days really makes a difference. I may consider other intakes if I am not happy. Loss in mileage is a definitely deal killer.

I feel the same in 3rd...runs very strong in third now...better than my AirRaid did and it wasn't a bad intake.

So you cut off part of the intake that butts up against the TB? Not sure if that is a good thing....my understanding is messing with that area can mess with the performance of the intake, but hey what do i know lol.
