I'm with jewel, When I tested drove the cts coupes I liked the idea of the push button start. But when I strted looking at the Camaros, turning the key just felt right.
Espcially if I have to insert the key to the on position anyways, what is another 1/4 inch hurt.

So... You cut a key, put it in the ignition, turned the key to acc then capped the key hole?

Ok so now anyone can get into your car and start it or does it have the whole smart key receiver so you have to have the key in your pocket?

I think GM kinda dropped the ball here. The switchblade key is cool but it should have been a smart key like the Corvette. I mean cheap cars have that now... why can't we?

Looks good! Send that to GM with a brick so they can hit themselves on the head for not making it on the car!

I mean, isn't the whole point of those systems in the first place that you don't have to take the key out of your pocket at all? It just seems like a lot of money to spend to still have to put the key in, and turn it, and then press a button to hear it fire up. Just my two cents though. It doesn't look terrible or anything it just seems like something else on the dash that doesn't need to be.
The key is left in the ignition, cut and covered turned to accessopries . only there to disable the wheel lock on the steering wheel. I walk up to the car...unlocks automatically...I sit down and push a button. no key to deal with.
I understand not everyone will appreciate it. I on the other hand love it.

I'm sorry. Read your first explanation wrong before.

So it is possible for anyone who can get in your car to start it then?

And the key is left on accessories forever?

Any attempt to unlock the car with out the smart key (pictured) the ignition is disabled and the car will not start. will also sound alarm with lights flashing and horn sounding.

But if your vehicle is always on accessories, how does that affect your battery?

My wife's Lexus has Smart Key and I love the feature. Very nice to be able to just get in your car and go.

I don't understand the appeal of push button start. Yeah, it's somewhat cool, until the novelty wears off. Seems like another way for people to become even more out of the loop with their cars.
