seems like we have been hearing and waiting for the Scosche kit for a long while... which makes me take a "believe it when I see it" stance.

Yeah, I dunno what people are talking about with the LCD, I can see it fine all the time, even dimmed down some. Maybe because I made mine match the indiglo color instead of red.

I will need to fix the light leak though from the LCD when I finish up my install.

I just installed the metra kit with a double din screen. thing works great, much better than having the stock radio and knobs. The LCD really isn't that bad, you may not be able to read it perfect at a glance, but there's nothing on there that you don't know what it is... You can tell where everythings at. I have it set to bright red too so it's probably even harder to see but the whole kit looks great, functions great!

I worked with Dave who designed the interface for metra and he made the sound even better in my car by just plugging up to his software program. So, metra certainly can improve if they'd like too, but the kit is perfect, keeps the factory look which I love. That other new system coming out looks too big and unnecessary.

You will not be disappointed by the metra kit, hands down.

Hmmmm. I have all the stuff and dreading the install. Looks like METRA assumes your installing amps and NOT using the factory setup. This might pose a problem for those who want a NEW head unit and NOT new amps, like me... I love the knobs though... Grrr

I installed mine a couple weeks ago. I've had no problems, and don't really get why people think it looks bad. I think it looks pretty damn good with my 7" Pioneer.

I agree. I just can't get my steering wheel controls to work. I installed it in the 3mm" spot above the usb port in the back. Read the instructions a 100 times, but no led light comes on on the display. And what display the metra display?

heres a diagram of where I plugged the steering wheel control to back of stereo in red

Hmmm...that's weird. To answer your question, the red light is on the little black Axxess box, not on the actual Metra dash piece. I also had to do the force learn process, as it didn't detect correctly the first time. If that doesn't work out, I would have to assume that there is a wiring mistake somewhere. All you can really do is pull it back out and double check you wiring matches between the harnesses.
