Putting stock axle backs back on
Long story short I used launch control and broke a number of components in the rear end. After 2 trips to the service department, my car is now making a vibrating/humming noise at about 70mph in 5th gear. This wasn't present before the incident but two separate service managers and a shop foreman have all blamed it on the borla s type axle backs. I know what drone is, this is different. The only chance I have of getting this resolved is to put the stock mufflers on and show them. Anyone know what the best way of getting these back on is? Searched google, all I found were flex couplers. Thanks

Maybe you could use something like this as a temporary fix. |

Your gears are whining. Mine do too after grenading the rear end and having it rebuilt. Plus I have all the rear bushings replaced so you can really hear it.
I dont have any vibrations though. |

Is this a possible exhaust leak? I too installed S-Type Axle Back and do feel vibrations at certain rpms but I believe it is ze drone.

Oh I know they are jacking me around. I know they make less money on warranty claims so they are inclined to find ways around fixing the problem. I really despise going to the dealer for service. It doesn't sound like a whining from the gears but an intermittent groaning noise that happens about 1 1/2 times a second in 5th gear between 70 and 76mph. Its just frustrating that they won't even diagnose it without switching out the exhaust.
