Cat back vs. Axle back Cherry Bomb
Ok. I'm going to be purchasing either an inferno orange or black LS next month (still cant decide on the color). I am planning some mods to my car. Namely tint and now an exhaust. I'm leaning towards Cherry Bomb as the sound is great as is the price. Question is, which is better, a cat back or axle back? I was on their website and I couldnt find much info on them. Which on is the one where its basically an add on to the existing exhaust, is that the axle back? Any opinions/suggestions are welcome, all the help I can get is great. Thanks.
** Also feel free to chime in on the color. I'm really torn right now between the orange or black.** |

Idk if I would put a cherry bomb on a V6 personally... Axel back would be the cheaper add-on I would imagine. If you want a cheap V6 exhaust I'd look into glasspack style mufflers as replacements

axle back- I belive your just replacing the mufflers and the exhuast piping after them.
cat back- replaces all exhuast piping/mufflers that lead up to the cataylatic converter. So the cat back will net you an bit more hp/tq but i would expect an major gain in power with either. good luck. Im also thinking an cherry bomb exhuast wouldnt be the best choice, i havent really seen many that sound good. And personally I would go with the black, expecially on an LS, or the dark blue (imperial?) also looks good. Good luck on the choice.

I want something with some sound and I saw a video of a 2010 Camaro with cherry bomb exhaust and it sounded hot. Why wouldnt you put bombs on a V6 for? Does it really matter or are you just stating it as your own taste or whatever? I'm not looking for the 10 extra HP or anything I just want a nice sound.

im not saying not to it justs seems most (On other cars) iv heard didnt sound to pleasant, but thats not always the case.
i only listned to a part of the flowmaster vid and it didnt sound to bad. If i was you, i would go for something that had an nice deep rumble that was still fairly mild.

Any recommendations? I have never done anything like this and am new to moding a vehicle. My current (and first car I ever had) is a Ford Explorer Sport which I'm currently running into the ground and havent done anything to except change out the speakers when they started going. I'm new to this type of stuff. Thanks for putting up with me.

if you just want sound, go with axleback. also, check out the v6 bolt-on section. there's a ton of info. and there's a sticky with lots of videos of different exhausts.

I have a V6 and im deciding on an exhaust system too. the only problem that most of the exhaust system is that they make the car sound like a ricer...but here is a video of one sounds pretty good check it out...

I'm getting my Corsa installed this Monday. It's pricey, but I usually believe in 'you get what you pay for.' A lot of people seem to like this system.

If you want a color with low maint get the orange! Has three black cars very tough to keep clean just going around the block. The Orange really does look good even when it needs a wash.
