I agree, but my car is 5 years old too. 70k miles and I would not consider it heavily modded...
The Motor has never been opened, I only have Under drive pulleys, Long tubes, catted h pipe, 4.10 gears, aluminum Driveshaft, TCI 3500 Stall. Intake and Tune. Track weight 3600 lbs w/driver (No weight reduction)
the 2005 was lighter than the 2007.

Click my Signature 12.29 @ 110.06 for my time slip

I am a first time Mustang owner, I have always owned GM. and WILL have the 2010 Cyber Grey Camaro parked next to my Mineral Grey 2005 Mustang.

I under stand the Mod for Mod the Camaro will out power the Mustang, But then again I have a 4.6L Motor (Stock) reaching 380hp N/A with Bolt-ons. I would expect a 6.0L engine to surpass the 500 mark with the same mods. but then again My mustang is paid for... the Camaro will be another 5 year note :(

There are several N/A Mustangs in the 11's that are daily drivers.

Yes.. Gearing changes that.. Notice the crappy milage, taller gear
I am going to put a taller in when I get the Camaro, I think it comes with 3.55 I may go with 3.73 or 4.10. 80% of my driving is in the Rural / City so not much highway driving.

I think this may end up being a case of the car feeling much better than the numbers would suggest.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

The G8 GXP isn't exactly a Camry so having numbers that are fractionally less isn't an embarrassment.

In all honesty the only thing you have showed is, is that your have enough money to afford a bunch of cars - I don't see any tech/technique articles coming from you. You just pretend to be objective because you have a Mustang and want a Camaro too. Unless of coarse you have driven a Camaro already? - then my bad.

IMO he's fairly objective and makes a point of saying that you guys underestimate the stangs, assume that he's being unfairly biased and over-hyped the camaro. All of which are true. He is one of the few on here who probably know as much or more about the Mustang than we do about the Camaro and isn't on here just trying to cause trouble.

He's fairly objective, yes, but I think sometimes that price is a factor when considering the performance of a car.

The only real thing that gets me agitated is his tone- it just always seems negative in light of the Camaro and he always throws in defense for a mustang that may or may have not been brought up, so in other words.

What do you think about the Camaro- without mentioning the Mustang? If you have done it - it must be very infrequent.

More so for some than others. And it also matter how you spend it. You could go out an buy a 99-03 Cobra for ~15-23k and make up the diff in price of an SS modding it and have a car that'll embarrass any stock SS. And i think he's being realistic in saying that you'll meet these types of cars from time to time.

That's true and it may be the fact that we're typing... i dunno. But it does kinda come off that way. Could just be our imaginations though. Intent and tone is difficult for some to express in text.

The better 3.73 rear will do that, makes a big difference in acceleration. You take a hit on MPG though. I'm sure Chevy didnt want a guzzler tax on its new car in this "climate". Maybe next model year they have more time to tune it with the 3.73 or maybe they wont care about the tax at that time.

Taller gears = lower numbers (3.23, 2.73)

Shorter gears = higher numbers ( 3.73, 4.10)

You want shorter gears.
