May not be quite as good as aftermarket exhaust, but I'm thinking Vararam + DT headers will sound pretty good even with the stock exhaust.

No issues what so ever. Everything went on in about 10 min. Modifying the radiator brackets took most of the time. I'm so happy with this intake, I'm glad I waited for it. The sound is crazy, can't wait for my exhaust. EricVerdunII we were in you neck of the woods with the cajun camaro club for the Transformers 3 movie. Now, a review from a non-car guy.
I did my install from the video by rolnslo
The video was very easy to follow like it was made for me.
(I just figured out the whole rightie tightie lefty loosey thing from the Lowe's commercials)
A plus on the ease of the install
I have the automatic and the fit seems go to me, however it did move from time to time tho now much.

Now as for driving; the car roars like a demon escaping the depths of hell.
Throttle response is excellent after 2200 rpm(still thinking about that ported out TB tho)
Getting up to highway speed happens for light to light now.(May have to switch back to stock just to avoid the tickets)
I think to get the full effect of this mod you have to run in manual mode.
This thing just kills here. Night and Day different.
Bottom line: I am well pleased

Well i dont know if i should be upset worried or think its all me .. but i went to the track again today and manged to only pull out a 14.83 at 95mph. For some reason in the back of my head its telling me the Vararam isnt running right or something... i always check it in the staging lanes right after a run too cause it does move up and i keep having to tighten the dam thing back down.... im torn on what to do it was 36 or 38 degrees and about 70% humidity , im just getting really mad cause i thought it would perform alot better. Any pointers?? im getting 2.2's on the 60fts i know im not the best/most expierienced driver but its just frustrating

For the record, one thing that really bugs me is that my Mph hasnt changed from stock, im running the same times, and i cant beat my stupid friends colbalt , i hit third and he pulls on me the last 150-200 ft , supposidly the vararam is supposed to shine in 3rd but i havent really seen a difference blah!!!

Hard to say, but 36 - 38 degrees celcius converts to right near 100 degrees Farenheit....which basically means the car will not be runnning all that great.

Even a .1 better 60' would equate to another tenth or two at the end of the 1/4 mile so if you can do better on that it would make a nice difference.

What was the temps on your stock runs again? Are you running a SC colbalt or what?

I don't think we are going to start seeing much realistic data on the VR until late this fall. So far we have some evidence that it performs well (actual evidence and not butt dyno) and we have some evidence that maybe it isn't performing all that well.

The other factor is there is by far more variables in the install of this intake than with the others that could limit the potential of this intake.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm making excuses lol....just think we need more data, and air comparible to previous runs before we assume too much.

Yea i know the 36-38 was a scortcher today so i dont know how that works, the DA according to the calculator was like 2800ish i know thats pretty bad i believe. Yea these stinking 20" rims are such a beooootch to hook , i want trailing arms to fix the wheel hopp in the rear thats my next step, i ordered the Vmax V2 so well see what happends.

Thats what im thinking too, i dont wanna be a debbie downer but i guess i just put it in my head too much thinking i was going to run a dam 14.0 with all these mods which is where i think i should be, but as of now ... my launch heat and top end all seem to be a main factor to this, And yes i do heat the tires. im going to fool around with the intake again now and see what i can do, im going to upload picks and get your guys opinions on my install.

Just a thought, but did you pull off the rubber seal from the front of the radiator during install? (it is something I didn't do during my first install but I went back and removed that, and I think it helps) and I also ground down my brackets low enough that the edge was basically even with the top of the rubber inserts.

After doing this, I installed the intake using certain markers that I etched in the brackets to make sure the intake sat in the exact same spot with the red tube installed, as when I was lining it up with the tube off.

It definitely made my intake stay in place much better instead of moving and closing off the airflow.

Mine installed Saturday and it has not moved. Remove the rubber thing in the front of the radiator too. The fit should work. Don't stress over the run times it will get better.

Yea i saw that i instantly ripped it out to me it didnt make sense to stay Lol

For my install... basically i did it once really late at night then again the next day, i sawed off pretty much the whole side of the bracket cause they just dam well kept hitting them and it was getting freaking annoying. After that it definately sat better, then i had to file the stupid intake a bit to get it to sit flush... which it is now.

BUTTTT i just went into the garage about 1 hr ago.. took the intake off completely to just do a little overhaul/ reinstall.. The dam neck of the plastic warped like Bemorecam's did!!!! Not as bad but it did bend in... so i basically tried to pry it back but no luck and it looks like crap , oh and from the beggining, the seal to the top of the hood... its all folded down and seems streched... defintately not right either.

It usually stays in place only time ive ever seen it move is at the track from consecuative runs down the 1/4 ... anyways heres some picks, i hope Vararam can help me out here cause im starting to get frustrated, and i live in Canada which does not help
