Lucas Oil Raceway (I guess it's now called O'Reilly) is basically just as far from SoCal as Valdosta was; over 2,000 miles one-way. Three 10-hour days of driving there, and three 10-hour days of driving back. So 6 days of driving, at least $600 for gas, plus food and lodging for 6 days....just to get there and back. Somewhere between $1,000-$2,000 for a couple of days of fun. Or....an electric water pump and lighter flywheel....for years of fun... decisions decisions...

Doc, You're exactly right on the driving time to get there for us So. Cal. folks. I came back from Detroit in June from the Hot Rod Power Tour, took basically 3 long days of driving at least 10 hours a day.
