WOW Matt, thanks! The black is going to look great with the white car. I don't know how many more times I can say that "I can't wait to pick her up!"

thanks for sharing your results... i gotta be honest here... that is one of the ugliest kits on the market! but HOLY HELL those numbers are impressive! ill second the question, how do the IAT's compare with the PD blowers?

IAT's run a decent amount cooler than with the PD blowers. Without methanol the PD blowers in our heat/humidity will sky to 180-200* without an issue. I run no methanol with my particular centri kit & I have not seen above 125-135* and that is with ambient in the 99-102* range the last few days! |

Have you seen any real gains going with the 2" headers rather than the 1 7/8"? At what point do you think the 2" becomes necessary?

jasy: Unfortunately I do not have any back to back comparisons here.. ARH asked me to specifically use the 2" LTs on my application with their full exhaust. However, considerations for the future were taken into account when ordering the headers (Bigger motor).
I honestly think either set would work out fine. Most of the Maro's we've done have the 1 7/8" |

UNRIVALED: Thanks ! ... Tommy here has brought the car to a few local car shows of recent. Most people that come up think the supercharger is factory GM. I do prefer the matte black brackets myself as it does give that "should have been here from factory" look.
Thanks we'll see you soon. |

Cool combo Matt. Have you been able to log the IAT readings with the hood closed going WOT down the track (or highway)? I'm curious to see if the filter placement just above the headers is much of an issue. Open hood not as big a deal, but wondering about real world IATs. Thanks!

However, I can give you some results for now at least.. It was 79* yesterday evening. I had the car sitting at idle for 10+ minutes because of a backed up drive thru line at the BK! The IAT's rose while idling into the 96-98* range. At normal cruise I was in the 86-88* range. During a hard 2nd-3rd-4th pull (Shifting ~6500), the highest IAT's I saw were 108*, which came back down to the 88-90* range within seconds of backing off the throttle. When just doing a throttle pull (3500RPM-6500RPM in third gear) I saw the highest 100* & once again came back down almost immediately after letting off So overall, the IAT's are great considering the temperature and no use of methanol. Coupled with the use of our ECS intercooler, I see no IAT issues at all with this air filter location. Stay tuned I'll get you the log. |

Patrick: It's pouring down here.. Looks like logs will have to wait till she comes out tomorrow.. I'll definitely keep you in the loop. I don't mind giving out the data on our systems of course. We tried a few different setups with plastic & fabricated aluminum ducts and this setup just works the best & is simple. Once you start bending ducts around 150+ degrees you start losing flow & of course boost... I have seen on some of these air ducts a loss of 2+ lbs at times even at low boost!
ducati: Our normal ECS Oil Cooler block is fine for the Camaros (As is any LSx).. You'll be removing the factory oil stabilizer of course? |
