The MAF (mass air flow) sensor is on your intake tube. The picture below of the stock intake shows the position of the wiring harness connected to the sensor. The sensor is removed with a couple of screws. To understand more about the various sensors on the car and what they do, take a look at this blog post.

Thanks, I'll check it this weekend. I'm scheduled to get a Blackhawk CAI soon. This will replace that, right?

Mine says K18...So I'm good to go right? Or is it a 'weak' one?

K18 is a good one, I do believe.

Cheers

I have a weak one. Where do I purchase the strong one, and use the weak one as a paper weight?

Ok I want to make sure on this. I got a new one since my old one only had 1 letter. My new one which is already in my car had a letter and a number. That should be a good one right? Somebody keeps saying they have to have 3 characters.

Your MAF is good to go. A letter followed by a number is "strong".

I don't think I have seen a letter followed by a single number before. What is the code?

I installed a CAI inc system yesterday and my MAF has a single letter "W" on it. Do i need a new MAF? I have an LS3. Will it make a difference?

That is a "weak" MAF. If you are not having any issues then you don't "need" one. If you take any additional steps to improve air flow you probably will though.

OK. I checked and I got a weak MAF. I've noticed that the car has much less pwr than the coupe I test drove. The dealer says he can get another one for me. I will ask him to call and make sure the new one is a stong one with the letter and number. Hope that works.

I am scheduled to have him put on an SLP Supercharger and CAI (Blackhawk) in 11 days and I understand that a strong MAF will be necessary.

I also understand that the install will also involve a retune. That should fix any issues with the low octane fuel the dealer probably filled it with when it was delivered, right? But I'm guessing I'll need to make sure all that fuel is used up and replaced with hi-octane fuel before the retune, or I'll have the same issue, right? Am I missing anything?

Has anyone found a "weak" MAF on a 2012?

Yes, it is not model year dependent.
