Just jealousy
It really is all about jealousy you know. Most of them have to drive those 4
door GIRLIE chargers.(Think how would you feel?)They really yearn to get behind the wheel of a camaro and fell some real power so when they see us the jealousy really comes out.Oh well just have accept the fact that this car creates a lot of negative reactions from many individuals not just authorities.

Why do people think just because they drive a Camaro they are being singled out? Quit your crying about it. The car has NOTHING to do with it. I have been driving mine for a year and a half with no problems at all. ALMOST EVERY poster that complains about being stopped has been stopped for an actual violation. I have driven everything from Chevetts to Corvettes and the only times I have been stopped were in mundane everyday cars. Not once in the 3 Camaros or one Corvette I have owned have I been stopped. People always want to blame someone or something other that themselves for being stopped. I say to those that get stopped and are violating a law no matter how trivial, stop acting like spoiled children and accept your penalty graciously. Remember you DID violate a law!

And what law is violated by changing your plate lights to WHITE LEDs? None... That's the issue here.. no law was violated. It's not up to an LEO to determine what he preceives as law. The LAW is black and white... not something that is thought up in someone's grey matter.

To Caper:
I live in LA and LEOs, including meter maids are using any infraction, however small, as a revenue enhancement. No front plate will get you every time, as will "violations" of parking codes. It's unfortunate but that's the way it is.

However, I think there's a point to be made that some LEO's do go after "noticeable" cars. My first 3 cars were Camaro's. When I was young (17-23), I got pulled over a few times (3 that I can remember) when I was doing NOTHING wrong, or even a hint of anything wrong. All three times, the LEO said "did you know you were speeding back there?" All three times I pointed out that I absolutely wasn't. Somehow they didn't have their radar on either. Go figure. So, I got two "warnings" and a seat belt ticket, which was back in the day when they couldn't pull you over for that but could ticket you if they pulled you over for something else. Why did they pull me over? I don't know. Was it the car? Maybe. I think it was more likely the car, plus a young guy driving it. I absolutely believe some LEO's pull people over who they want to check out further, and make up a reason like "you were speeding" to justify it. |

His perception was not the law itsself because that is clear, for some reason you or i do not know the color of your lights did not look white to him. So in that case you need to go to court and prove him wrong. One thing I don't like about these kind of tickets is it seems that you are assumed guilty in court and have to prove the officer is wrong. It should be up to the officer to prove you are in the wrong.

This is great news, because I got about 18 years left, so I hope someone with your mentality stays out of Florida. I am assigned to training division which deals nothing with traffic until the new fiscal year and my department assigns me a new dog. I write about 2-3 tickets a month. I have stopped 5 people in the last 2 weeks for 20 over and let them all go because they were honest about their mistakes.... If that is too much for you, I am sorry. However, if you want to admit it or not, aftermarket LED lamps can often have a blue hue to them. If you are that closed minded.. fine. There is nothing I can say to alter your opinion. The law isn't perception issue, if it gives off an exterior appearance of BLUE due to ELEVATED LEVELS OF ILLUMINATION and blue is the color that reflects back towards drivers behind him it is illegal. The light itself is WHITE. The stock lamps are rather dim..the increased level of illumination on that tag will give off a rather bright blue hue. It is the same issue we have for specialty tags in Florida that are blue... because the tags have a blue base to them. It does NOT matter what the light itself is emitting if the color that refracts off the vehicle is BLUE. What don't you understand about that. If you shine a bright white light off blue tinted glass or metal... what you see is blue from the exterior. The law is black and white? What about reckless / careless driving, california stops, driving without due care, assault with a deadly weapon, child neglect, exhibition of speed, street racing....... should I go on about what cops, attorneys, and judges consider "black and white"? It baffles me that it bothers you THIS much when I flat out said, this would be a ridiculous stop to enforce with a citation. I said the stop was NONSENSE! ...I further stated while I may stop for it, no way in hell would I write you for it.. grow up

Well all I can say is if you feel you are running legal go to court and make them prove your equipment is illegal.
