Any update when the windscreen will be available from GM or Bosal?

I don't understand why GM has a part number (even a picture) and the prodcut is not available.

Becky,

I think you are the only person who can help me.

I really want a windscreen for my vert (make it my wife is STRONGLY suggesting to get one ).

Nobody can give me the moment when the windscreen will be available.

I tried with my dealer and he is telling me maybe september. He doesn't know...

I checked various 3 rd party suppliers, nothing.

GM is providing a part number and even a picture but no avaibility.

Becky, could you please check with your contacts if the windscreen will be a reality or not.

Merci beaucoup and you are doing a fantastic job for us camaro5 owners .

This is a job for MaureenM@RodgersChevrolet!! She's the best parts mgr ever and really good in situations like this, getting good accurate info. I'll pass this along to her and she what she can find out!

Good idea, my wife also keeps a bandana in there to tie on.

For those of you with kids, we always keep 2 extra pair of sunglasses in the car for them. Wearing them really helps with the wind swirling in their face and resultant squinting.

Just a thought ...

I really don't have any use for the windscreen, but I'd like to see someone produce a cover for the back seat area that installs using the attachment points in the trim designed to accept this windscreen.

I never understood why people used these rear seat covers. Is it just because it makes it look like a two seater?

No, it's to cover the rear seat area when using it to augment the limited storage area in the trunk. (We bought this vehicle to replace a Chevy SSR, and we're still adjusting to the significantly dimished amount of storage space ...)

I'd also / alternatively like to see someone produce a cover that both replaces the current tonneau cover and also covers the rear seat area.

With the windscreen in place, you can put packages underneath it but no one is sitting there.

Windscreen now available

I received my windscreen from GM Parts Plus about three weeks ago. It had been back-ordered since mid-May. I ordered and received the GM model, as pictured in the post above by RPOZ28. Though a little pricey, I consider it a good piece of kit. I paid around $360 w/ shipping. YMMV. You can fold it down, so that it lays level with the pieces across the seats. You can then remove it, fold it in half again (basically it folds into quarters), put it into the included Camaro bag, and store it in your trunk.

It works very well at reducing back-drafts. I find it most useful in cool weather. I really wish I had it during Power Tour, as the evenings in Michigan were brisk. It also has a quieting effect on the cabin airflow. Put the side and rear quarter windows up, and you have a very nice still-air pocket.

Overall, I recommend it and consider it a nice addition. Any of you that may have further questions, PM me and we can discuss it further by phone.

I'm thinking of having a screen made out of plexi-glass, mounting to the vert toneau cover hooks, that way it helps the rear seat passengers. Sorta like Sux2bu showed on the vette. Will keep you updated once I get to the glass shop and see what they think.
Maybe I'll try a piece of cardboard as a test concept.
