haha yeah, i'm not complaining. Just interested in why the railcar hasnt been touched since it got there. Like how it all works. Maybe they only unload them every few days. Maybe they have had other priorities over there. Or maybe they're waiting for other cars that are going to the same dealer before they mess with it, since i'm assuming they know exactly what's inside and where it's headed. GM did call me on the 19th and said i would get it in the next 3-7 days at the most. Basically sometime this week, monday through friday. But i'm not really worried about that (my check still hasn't come) just wondering how come it hasn't been unloaded. Seems like they could park them and then be able to use the railcar.. since apparently there is a shortage.

Well from what I've been told your car will sometimes wait as much as one week for a truck to have a full shipment to a certain area or to one dealership. It's very similar to waiting for a full railcar in order to ship. So either your car is waiting for other cars to join it or there are too many cars and not enough trucks to pick up all the cars. Hope that makes sense

yeah that makes perfect sense.

It was kind of funny because last night we went out to dinner and afterwards we drove to a bunch of dealerships because i wanted to look at some vehicles out of curiosity. I saw a 2012 camaro, some 2011 mustangs, challengers, etc... and EVERY single dealership had a delivery truck pulled in delivering new cars. and it was late in the evening, it was already dark out. made me think of us waiting for our camaros. Out of all the dealerships I went to... only the Ford dealership blocked off the entrance so you couldn't drive around and look at the cars. they parked a pick-up sideways so u couldnt get through. Guess they don't like you browsing without a salesman there to bother you

on the way home I did see a 69 Camaro SS. that was pretty

Haha thats funny! I saw around 6 camaros today on my way to work only in a 10 mile span... There everywhere now. But I did not see one orange one time to mod!

Just got an email at work here saying I had a new status update too. I get all excited thinking it's going to be that all elusive 4200. Well I guess I got a little too excited prematurely, cause it said the same thing as yours bro, 08/23/2011 - (4B00) But now I find this a bit confusing, cause I also went to Chevy.com and put in my order number to track it, and it says that my vehicle has been shipped and is enroute, so....... I don't know what's going on. I guess I'll call the inventory manager today and see what's up. Chevy.com has been saying just that my car has been produced and is waiting to be shipped for the longest time now. So I guess that it saying that it's been shipped has got to mean something, right? Oh well, just gotta keep the fingers crossed.

on chevy.com my car's status went straight to shipped/en-route after it was built, but it didn't actually ship until almost a week later.

Hmmm, that's odd. I just wish there was a clear cut anwer from GM as to why there are some cars that are being held back much longer than the norm, and why others are just shipping right out on schedule. I feel as long as I was to know exactly what the issue is, I wouldn't have as hard of a time waiting for it.

the status of my railcar has changed. It was at "arrived" for 2 days, and at 2 A.M. today it changed to "has been placed at industry". I don't know what that means. My best guess is that it's now in line to get unloaded.

Yeah, I'm still bayed too. chevy.com has me as "shipped/en route" again too. Right after my car was made it went to shipped/enroute then a few days later went to backwards to "production completed". So info from chevy.com means nothing to me..considering it also says you can view your window sticker, which of course you can't.

ok so now my railcar is empty. when i call it says "empty" then the computerized voice says something else that sounds like complete jibberish to me, i can't understand what he's saying. it sounds like, "a tad bit wadle reported" lol. anyone know?
