Irene was no biggy in queens, no floods that I can see of! What a relief that no damage was done and the cars are prefectly fine

Count yourself lucky. Glad to see you made it out ok, others weren't so fortunate.

Here in New England we are down to 35-50mph winds and 1-2 inches of rain; I knew this storm was going to be a joke by the time it got here! Typical overreaction by the media to draw more ad revenue...

Got a lot of branches down and leaves all over my LS.
No biggie. The media is looking for ratings again getting everyone into hysterics!

Looks like my hometown is getting the highest recorded wind gusts... 72MPH. I finally got ahold of my wife(I'm at work) and it looks like our power is out. Our town also cut off the water supply to the lower lying areas.

Glad to hear this is the way it turned out.

We've had it both ways here... (false alarm Rita) and (the real deal Ike). You can never take it too lightly..

If the media had NOT "over-predicted" and a catastrophe had occured, how do you think these east coast folks would feel?
Living in tornado land, I'd rather be prepared and have nothing happen, than to be caught in harms way with no warning and no plan.
No happy medium when it comes to weather.
...just saying...

Better safe, than sorry. Been through many storms in Florida. It is not always the strength of the storm, but the rain that follows. I was watching the news, and it showed the Hudson overflowing into lower Manhattan.

The media does blow this situation up for ratings... which is bad because the many of us in FL very rarely take them seriously anymore unless it is a Cat 3+.

but like someone stated previously, they wouldve gotten hell if they didn't report it. I do believe someone was in the EVAC zone refusing to leave and ended up being killed... I think that was along the shoreline though.
