I need to look in this car but i believe the gas tank is in the shape of a V stuck behind the rear axle. So the top part of the gas tank is bigger then the small part so the fuel in the top part burns slower. Once you hit a halfa tank the needle just drops like a stone in water. Now in this is a rule of thumb i use to drive to ohio alot and other place. I took long road trips useing the same car same trip. I noticed if i filled at half a tank i would stop like 4 times there. If i did not lets say went to almost E filled to half tank i would stop 6 to 8. So i guess you could say it saves time too less trips to the gas station

you burn the same amount of fuel, weather its from the top of the tank or the bottom, so it really doesnt save you anything. It might take less time to go thru the lower half of the tank, but you are not saving anything at all. In a perfect world you would save more fuel as the tank got emptier since youre hauling less weight.

Being that a half of tank of gas adds weight to your car...and that generating the power to move a heavier car uses more fuel..

I did not know that the fuel pumps on the Camaros weren't cooled by the gas. What is the cooling system used? As for sediment and filters, that is the reason I said it was a mute point on the Camaros; they are new cars.

I fill up as soon as I get close to a 1/4 tank. I don't think my car has ever been below 1/4 tank, any of my cars ever.

Ok think of it like this nyr if you took out your 19 gallon tank and put a 9.6 gallon tank how meny miles would you get on a full tank. About half of what you get now maybe alittle more cause your saveing weight fine but in general you would be at the pump ALOT more correct? So less gas in a gas tank equals less miles on a trip. I not for nothing else thats some logic not a big fat ZERO. Besides i got another reason but i wont get off topic of this conversation

I just went on a road trip and ran really low on gas trying a gas station. The light came on and I went 27 miles with he light on. When I got off the freeway off ramp was at angle and it started to stumble. I coasted the rest of the way to the station. That will never happen again.

Nightfall the reason you don't save is because you go to the pump twice as often. And on the v6 i have never gotten past 13 gallons to fill (at 1/4th) so i highly doubt a v6 has the same fuel capacity as the SS purely because it would add more weight while the v8 can take a little more weight due to the power.
