Just a little update- I decided to buy an overdrive pulley from SC2150 and put it on and now my voltages are consistently at ~14.4V at idle (with everything on including my 800W RMS system), which is more than it was getting at with just an idle increase.
Thanks for the pulley Tracy |

I wondering a couple things. Will a pulley become available for the L99 alternator, or will a ls3 alternator fit on a L99 car?

I'm pretty sure it's the exact same alternator.

K. I have a definite confirmation that the pulleys are different I'll look at an ls3 and compare alternators

The alt is the same, stock pulley is different but the overdrive billet unit is the same. It is just difficult to get the clutch/sprague pulley off. I usually use a die griner to cut and split them off. Then the puley goes on just the same.
I have them in 6 & 8 rib right now but can make 10 ribs if needed for an extra charge. |

Can Cold air kits have the same effect? I did an install 2 weeks ago, driven the car fine about 5 or 6 times now all of the sudden I have battery saver & the car won't start.

UPDATE: I have found and fixed the problem!
So after a while of thinking everything was dandy, my battery died...again! You can imagine the distress I was in. So, back to square one; I had no idea what was wrong. After putting in another battery ( ) I busted out the multimeter and measured if there was any current draw from anything when the car was off. I couldn't find any but the next morning I woke up and measured the voltage in the car after it was off for about 12 hours and the voltage measured 12.2! There was something drawing power. I popped open the side of the in car fuse box to prod around to see if I could find anything and as I moved my hands over the fuses I noticed one was burning hot, after the car had been sitting overnight. Turns out it was my driver power seat! Something that I didn't mention before was that my power driver seat had stopped working coincidentally about a week before I installed the TSP underdrive pulley. I was planning on getting around to it but never did, now I wish I would have sooner . I pulled the fuse out and let it cool down. Then, just to see what happened, I put it back in later and my seat worked! I then used it throughout the day and left it overnight again, and the next morning I measured the battery at full capacity ![]() So, in short, no, my TSP Underdrive Pulley did not kill my battery. My malfunctioning power driver seat did. |
