After reading this article who in their right mind thinks this car is actually going to have a MSRP around $48,000(like someone posted in prior threads)... seriously, this car will be lucky if it starts out with MSRP of $52,000 and I'm sure the 6L90 6-speed Auto with all that performance will probably be a $2,300 option, no doubt.. I would really like this car in my driveway, though..

4200lbs might be 4200lbs, but they are all heavy now.
The M5 is going to be an easy 4300lbs.
The Charger, 300C are 4300lbs and the Grand Cherokee SRT8 is 4900 lbs.
in some cases they are not any faster than their predecessors.
The Camaro ZL1 will be faster than the Mustang GT500. It is just so much
more advanced. Watch

4200 pounds....with powdered rods and cast silicon pistons?

I thought this was the ULTRA Camaro?

Color me unimpressed.....Right now the GT500 is still bringing more to the table guys.

Get the weight down and put some forged internals in it and you'll have a MONSTER on your hands.

As far as keeping the faith.....after what I've gone through with my car...that ship has long since sailed.

What a great day !! Spent the morning in Biscayne Bay fishing the flats and come home to find horsepower figures for the ZL1. Scott, thanks to you and everyone associated with the creation of this great Chevy Camaro. And there is more great news to come about this car. It is a great day.

That's why it has a 6200rpm redline. If it had forged everything it would rev to 6600 ala LS9 and probably cost 7-10K more, then there's the EPA to consider. A 4000+ lb car with a 638hp motor would be in major gas guzzler territory.
Like I've said before, the CTS-V guys are getting 700hp at the flywheel with no issues for not mmuch money.
What are you complaining about?
A 580hp car that does 0-60 in less than 4 seconds for a round $50K.
How can you complain about that?
