After checking the VIN checker that one of the members posted, I looked up this particular dealer on their website. They only have 88 new Chevrolets in inventory. That's a relatively small dealer.

I didn't count but didn't I see about 15-20 Camaros built and going to them??

How is that happening?

Anyone know?

Are they getting these orders for fleet or GM execs or what??

OK this thread is going to get you in trouble, but here is your info.

They have about 60 cars already, and they are all rental cars for AVIS. I know it is BS...but according to my dealer, they have been doing it for years, even though the majority of dealers complain!!!

People are all so afraid that if we keep bitching about Moreno Valley GM will stop us from finding the window stickers like we are. I do not agree, I think we should be allowed to voice our opinions about how GM is totally mistreating its loyal customers whom have pre-ordered the car!

i agree i do understand the concern for wanting information but there will always be a way to get that information. in times like this i wonder whats going on in the marketing department getting the v6 showroom camaros and the rentals instead of making money and selling the sold orders. thats just my $.2

well here in Quebec,-CANADA- we have the "monopoly" lottery and you can win a camaro ss or take home 50000$cdn. they will be giving them away 100. when you win you go to your dealer and order the car the way you like.-must be SS-- gotta go play!!

exactly....that is why I am buying something else if I do not have a VIN this week. If my order gets pushed back 2 weeks because of some rental cars BS then I will buy from a company whom wants and respects my business.

Rental car companies are large customers...AND...they put a single car in the hands of many drivers. So...combine that with the V6 at every dealer and you're reaching out to the consumers who may not be aware of the Camaro.

I will admit it sucks for us that want cars ASAP...but it's not a bad business decision.

I totally agree it's bs that some rental car companies can get 60 plus cars, but I can't get mine that I'm paying 40 grand for and ordered feb 1. Bs gm, bs!!!!!!!

If I am buying a $40k car and see one beaten to death on an AVIS lot, I get pissed off...I probably will not buy one now that they are going to flood the rental companies with them and forget the people who will be the ambassadors for the cars - US! Just think: You go and buy that $30k fully loaded V6 RS and in 10 months get to see YOUR CAR being wholesaled at the corner rental disposal center for $17,990. Makes you feel real special as a car owner. THIS IS A BONEHEADED STUPID IDIOTIC MARKETING METHOD THAT ONLY SERVES TO DEMINISH THE VALUE OF THE CARS WE HOLD DEAR. Resale value goes into the toilet - has for decades - when crap like this occurs. "Check out the new V6 Camaro! Isn't she hot? Yeah you can have her - slot B5 right between the white G5 and the Toyota Yaris appliance."

but it seems like maybe there should have been a pre-pre-production event.

we all thought that production meant building cars for PEOPLE, not other companies. but then again, what do we know?

PLUS, if the dealer can sell the V6 car... how many people are REALLY going to get to drive it before it is gone? 0
