Best compliment you've ever gotten on your car?

This weekend at a car show, a man who was probably 75 or 80 came up to my car, hands in pockets, head down. Just staring at it. He walked around it four or five times; at one point I saw him reach out and brush his fingers along the fender. That was when I decided to get up and go talk to him. He looked up at me and I swear his eyes were misty. He gave me a really sweet smile and said, "Young Lady, is this your car?" I told him it was, and he shook his head and said "It's beautiful, Miss. Do you have a factory where you mint money to get a car like this?" I laughed and told him about my payments (under $300/mo) and he couldn't believe it. He kept asking me if I was sure and asking if I was paying for it myself. Then he touched the fender again (real lightly; I don't mind) and said, "It's a beautiful car, Miss. I remember..." then he kinda trailed off and smiled again, and shook my hand. His son (I guess) walked up at that point and he told his son, "Did you know her payments are only $298 a month for that car?" His son, of course, asked me if it was the six or the eight. The old man interrupted and said, "That doesn't matter. Just look at it. Reminds me of your mother. That's a beautiful car." I didn't know what to say, so I didn't say anything. Then he looked at it again, and slowly walked off down the line of cars.

It gave me chills. It was really freaking cool. Like maybe he was remembering having one and driving around with his wife. I dunno.

Anyway, I love reading all these stories

Best compliments on my ABM beauty weren't even out loud:

1) Had her in a car show, a brand new (probably less than 1k miles) Corvette ZL1 rolled up and parked right next to me. A few minutes later, about 5 guys walked up...all 5 of them were staring at my baby, checking out the engine, asking me questions. Weren't paying any attention to the Corvette. The guy with the ZL1 was staring bullets at me....haha! He paid more than 3 times what I did....and my car was punking his at the car show!

2) Drove past 4 older guys walking in a row behind each other on the sidewalk, exercise walking. Watched them as I went past and all 4 of them in time, front to back, almost broke their necks turning to look. The guy in back even ran into the back of the guy in front of him. It was HILARIOUS! Wish I had gotten a video, I'd post it on Youtube!

So many! The guy on a harley that almost rubbernecked himself into a curb trying to gawk at the Camaro..watch where you're going!
The LEO trio; one of the 3 told me he was sorry, he had to confiscate my car, then asked for a small burnout as I departed... yes sir!

Best compliment ever was when I drove it home. Husband says "Did you even look at the new mustang?" I asked "why?". He gave me "the look" so we got in the Camaro and drove 25 miles to the Ford dealership and I parked next to a Mustang. We looked at the Mustang, he hemmed and hawed and finally, begrudgingly admitted "yeah I guess that Camaro IS a nicer car".

driveing home on my road tonight a couple hours ago some kid stop dead in his track and as i rolled by he gave me and yelled NICE CAR i yelled out THANK YOU

When I was making my move from CA to VA, pulled into a gas station and about 5 cars behind me on the highway did at the same time. Older, possibly drunk guy, asked if I liked my Challenger... two 20ish girls getting out of their Honda respond... "No way man! That's a sexy Camaro, not a Challenger... get real!"
