I added the gauges to mine, mostly because of looks and I do glance at the oil pressure once in a while. As far as storage goes, I don't leave anything that can become a high velocity projectile laying around in the car. Same reason I'd never put a license plate in the front window. Huge flying razor blade, in an accident.

They are very useful if you know what you're looking at.

Mine is daily driven and the left side fits my phone perfect! like it was made for it actually... ride side i leave a gate remote (would love to do the install for buttoms on ceiling forget name of that gadget) also fits it like a glove. but that being said, I probably would like gauges for the looks mostly and check it here and there (once a day probably). so i'd possibly be up for trade to :P

I can somewhat agree with that. Without an oil temp gauge, I would just give it a certain distance and then go. However, once I put the gauge in, I was surprised at how much longer the oil took to get to temp than I had thought. I also found that idle doesn't warm it up as much as I thought.

A few good points made here... I like the one about oil pressure dropping slightly so knowing to check on it before it becomes a problem...

I'm getting a 1SS, but may purchase the 4 pack gauges.

Plus- I don't need the storage. Will I use the storage? Yea, but it'll just end up with junk in it like gas receipts and change. If I don't have it my car will be cleaner.

Or a great idea...... anyone with a 2SS who wants storage want to trade the panel with my 1SS?

I added them to my car. I wish I had known how many had them and would rather have the storage tray so I could have made a swap.
I really like them. I use them all the time. Those four guages are not ones you have to stare at all the time, only the occational glance to see they are within range. GM did a good job with indexing the Oil and Trans temp guages so you can just look to see the needles are about straight up.
I used my door pouch a lot now for my wallet, cigarettes, etc. I rarely use the console box except I have my cell charger always plugged in and the wire ran out and by my right leg.

the 4-pack gauges, in addition to 2010-2011 steering wheels and the chrome molding around the taillights, contribute to the "toy-car" look of the camaro if you ask me. you know, looks like something you'd see on a model car rather than an actual car. GM probably could have done them a little less tacky...

That is pretty awesome, I like it.

All this talk of "I use them to know when my car is warm enough to let rip" etc. is utter bollocks. In 30 years of driving, I know that ten minutes down the road, every car I've had has been up to full working temperature.
Completely agree with you

I know what I'm looking at, all I'm saying is that they could have put this information in the DIC and given me a storage space. ME PERSONALLY, that's what I would prefer.

I got a 1ss and am looking to upgrade to the 4 pack, I know there was a wiring issue with the factory gauges. Does anyone know the fix for this? I think there is a wiring harness you can buy.

Everything you just complained about is on the car because it was added to resemble the 1969 Camaro.
