Can't agree with any of this. First, if you mod the V8 to get 400 RWHP you also lose the warranty. The turbos have little affect on MPG because you aren't in boost during normal driving, and there is no indication that they reduce the lifespan of the car more than modding a V8 would. In both cases you just need to do it right and not go cheap. As for sound, every setup is different and everyone like different things.

Why do people think its cheaper for an ss? I bouht mY ls for 21400 out the door add another 5000 to 6000 for the STs kit and i would be pushing same or even more power than a ss for a way lower price. Once gretchchen figure out fuel issues its a matter of just switching some parts and raising the boost. Already have the turbos so no need to buy anything else. So don't assume that the v6 doesn't have potential. you just need to see from all perspectives.

Yeah, it certainly is an option. But you do lose the warranty. So, if you are satisfied with 400-426 HP at the crank and want the warranty the SS is a good option. If you want a bit more power then the LS/LT route is not a bad one. If you want big power, well you probably should mod the SS or get a ZL1. Enough options to keep everyone happy.

If gasoline goes to $5/gallon who will be saying I wish my daily driver was an SS instead of a LS/LT with a turbo? To me half the fun is researching which turbo system looks to be the best bag for the buck and then adding the turbo and working through the problems. Call me crazy but I find that fun. What ever floats your boat, right?

I too have thought about a turbo, but i think for now ill wait and see what comes out in the next year or 2. and yeah i agree that sound isnt right for the camaro but the horsepower gain is nice.

I roll around with my little brother in his LS all the time and he drives spiritedly with others from time to time out here in the desert roads of west texas and he races with me at the track everyother weekend and doesnt have much done.... exhaust, intake, and (as of this weekend) LT headers... and it is awesome to watch him spank some of the V8 guys and then chat with them and watch them get pissy when they find out a V6 just spanked them in public.... LOVE IT!!! Plus I cant wait to see where yall go with the big builds. If they can make a Nissan GTR with a 3.8L TT V6 lay down 950+ whp then the V6 camaro is capable as well. Just a matter of putting the correct puzzle together.
