Yeah, I didn't mean to start any flame wars, just curious as to what you did, cause I'm kind of in that boat with my dealer. But I've already gotten with CamaroScotty about it (he is the man!), and I'm gonna wait it out and see what next Friday and the following weeks bring. It's just that there are shady dealers out there, so I'm sure you can appreciate where we, the customers, are coming from. Walking into a dealership, sometimes, still feels like the first day of junior high...

RPO, My comments were not directed at you in particular. It was basically about 4 threads that led up to this....Then knowing that my situation is probably one that it will take every bit of documentation to get them to honor the price.....I blew up. Why cant GM just post a discount on the window sticker next to the preorder code. Seem simple and would resolve all this mistrust and situations that would potentially ruin what otherwise would have been the absolute best chance any car dealer could have to earn a customer for life. The average deal takes a couple hours all on one day and they are gone for several years....No relationship there. Order a Camaro like we all did and the dealer really has a chance to establish a relationship/friendship that could last a lifetime. I am sure you know that we were all guaranteed our price....You even posted when the prices came out and spoke about the introductory price for pre-orders. Now because of what was just a poorly written paragraph and ill thought out policy or procedure, some dealers are even considering not passing the price guarantee on. I know it not your decision and you cant really deviate from what you have been told. But this has got to be eating at you like the rest of us. Right is right and wrong is wrong. And you more than just about anybody on here has created a trust and a belief in the honesty and integrity of a professional car dealership. And I know from reading postings from your customers, you have established that lifetime friendship and trust from them. Once again sorry if my post felt directed toward you.....It was not meant to......Just freaking losing my mind today for some reason, and the words I chose were not thought thru before sending. Take care man and you are still my hero!

There is an RPO code showing that the car was an "early Order"...Sienna should be locked in to the pre order price on the sticker..I would hope.

When we took these original orders back in October, we wrote the deals "at MSRP" on each and every buyer's order. If we put an exact price and there was a mistake, or a huge "saver pac" or any one of other scenario's that could have arisen, we would have had huge problems. We didn't expect that GM would raise the price between October and production. We thought we were doing the right thing. Again, if one of my orders that are Camaro5 members have price protection, we will give it back to the customer WHEN WE RECEIVE IT FROM GM and no sooner. GM has decided to take their sweet time in paying dealers their incentive money. The money we get, is the money we will give. No more and no less. Just so it's clear to all of you:

PRICE PROTECTION IS THE DIFFERENCE IN INVOICE TO INVOICE, NOT MSRP TO MSRP.

Please do not give your dealer a hard time because you think you are entitled to old MSRP to new MSRP. It don't work that way.

Let me ask this. Let's say you signed a deal that has a specific price of $38945 and the actual MSRP is $38400, what do you think you're entitled to? Price protection doesn't fit in this instance. The price you agreed to is what you agreed to. Whether the dealer does the right thing is a whole other matter.

Just one other thing. I know most of you would like to be deputy sherriffs of the Camaro community but you are not going to change the world of the car business. There are a few of the dealers here who participate in spirited discussions and try to help out. Try to be more concerned about your own deal and your fellow forum brothers and sisters. It really can get aggravating when people are worried about what I (or any other dealer) am doing with the rest of our business outside of here.

We don't tell you what to do at your job.

Sorry for the short rant.

Huh?

You don't need price protection then. The agreed price IS your price protection. (if you got it in writing)

And in that case, what does the highlighted code on my Workbench sheet really mean? I agreed to msrp. So does R6P mean nothing?

R6P is a code for an early order activity vehicle.

That's all. It was probably used to generate the welcome kits that were sent out.

Yes, your agreed price is your price protection. If you have a price on your buyer's order, then you are good.

Well, that sucks. They will be giving me MSRP so I hope the price doesn't go up too much. Maybe I should go take the wheels off? Using the posted prices mine went to 42k and that's about as high as a Camaro should go. I could knock 4800.00 off the top right there.

So if you don't mind with your expeirience in the business, what would be your best guess as to the increase?

Not an easy question I know but would it be closer to 2000.00 or 500.00 for the SS?

I have settled back down to a much more civilized point. RPO, you explained what your dealer will do an I can only wish I was one of your customers. That is the right thing. And you are right about keeping the focus on oneself and ones own deals. Its just that so many of us dont have a dealer that gives us any information or idea whatsoever. Thank you for providing the insight into your world. Keep up the good work and good luck with Seinna.

It's your car and you do what you want by why would anyone spend $4800 for wheels of any type?

My Corvette has factory chrome wheels but I'm not even spending $1000 to upgrade to different wheels.

As far as the increase goes, I never paid attention to the early pricing because since all of our orders were at MSRP, we didn't really look into it. If you want to post exactly what you ordered, I can tell you what the current MSRP is.

Well, good question on the wheels. I get to keep the original RS wheels and tires and can get a couple grand for them so it would be around 2500.00 or so after the turn around. I just really like the look of the 21s for the Camaro and haven't found any I like better. I don't want the same rims everone else has.

I ordered 2SS/RS IO interior with the Interior Accent Package, 21" wheels, Automatic Tranny. I beleive that's all you would need.
If you could get the MSRP I would be thankful. That's awesome.

I was thinking about the ground effects but not sure.

I asked my dealer the same thing. He said since the dealer ad's are added at the dealer That I did NOT have to have them added. I made it clear that this was a make it or break it deal...I did not want thier advertising on my car lol.

IRPQ11,

When you order wheels from GM as an LPO, you don't get to keep your old wheels and tires. They replace the ones that are on there.

Usually up to the dealer. After checking up with our local GM installer, they DO NOT take the wheels and tires back.

Sorry for any confusion but it still is up to the dealer.

Personally, that is waaaayyyy too much money for wheels and tires.

Just a heads up.
