Good. That's how you're supposed to drive rentals in my opinion. Have all kinds of fun with it and wear it out and not have to worry about replacing things in the future because it's not yours!!!

The two in the vettes were a bit older (and maybe wiser) than us.

It was very unerving as you could have lost it at any time. I did most of my sliding when I was trying to go straight. The '67 Camaro in our group was having a real tough time and the Infinity bailed real quick. Actually I was impressed with how well our cars handled the wet track.

Your instructor shook Tim's ('87 Monte Carlo) hand later and said he was thoroughly impressed with him keeping that thing on the track. He (instructor) said every time he looked back, Tim was going sideways.

Sounds like you all had a riot!!! Next year... BeaveRun... flat out day. $180 for 5 hours, your own instructor in the car with you AND you get to pass. Not near as long or nice a track as MidOhio but still nice... Plus they are Fridays so we could hit the Starlite cruise after.

Yes, those all-season SUV tires are terrible. I should have added about 7-8 more psi to them. They were rolling over bad through the cone course, not so bad on the track, but still did some. I can't believe how bad I was sliding, but since I was staying on the instructors tail except for one corner and I wasn't slowing down anyone behind me, I figured it was all good. The first few laps were rather unnerving, but after that I knew when to expect the sliding plus I stayed in 4th instead of dropping down to 3rd.

Had the car out today. My tranny is starting to slip... too much torque, too much fun!

New tranny is on order.

Oooo that sounds like a great event to go to and it's cheaper. I like the idea of having your own instructor. Hopefully it's not during the school year and during the week so that I can go!

It seems that the all seasons are not the best for the track or for autocross. I slide some too when I'm autocrossing. I may have to get race tires next summer I'm thinking.

Flat out days are typically Fridays and run once or twice a month. Here is a link:

Still one weekend this year... Oct 29.

I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

Flat out days at BeaveRun is something totally different. I meant in addition to MidOhio... not inplace of.

I am not going this year. The last date is the 29th of this month but my family is visiting that weekend. I will make a weekend out of it next year. I tried a few weeks ago but rain spoiled the fun... :(
