It probably didn't help Hank that ESPN is owned by ABC...which is owned by George Soros...you fill in the rest from here.

But, I guess the First Amendment doesn't mean what it used to anymore. If you're employed by ESPN/ABC, you can say whatever you want anywhere you want, but only as long as ESPN/ABC agree.

Edit: What's really funny is that Williams Jr. isn't even really employed by ESPN/ABC...
It doesn't matter where he said it, he's an employed... yes if he is getting paid by them he is employed by them in some fashion....
Regardless.. they don't want controversy and he represented them so.... he gets what he got...
Thats the way it is in every business.. no one wants negative publicity and he opened it up so they did what they did..

What's really stupid is someone asking a celebrity for their political opinion and them actually answering it is even more dumb to a career

regardless I'm glad he's gone, I couldn't stand the song and he has been washed up singing the same thing for years... two hit pony that cant really even sing.. thank god he's gone !
I want football not a stupid drawn out same line song when I turn the game on....

What kills me even more are the complete tools that think this is a first amendment right violation. Thats our schools in action I guess.. Its pathetic that the avg person has no clue what our bill of rights are and what they mean.

freedom of speech is protection against the govt persecution.. NOT ESPN OR ABC.... or any other private organization/entity.. the meaning has not got lost, you never new it in the first place apparently.. I don't mean to be so harsh either but so many people don't have a clue about freedom of speech it really really just ticks me off its the first and most simple to understand

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

None of that protects Hank from being canned

seeing his interview, he did make himself look like the stereotypical hating redneck with a celebrity twist! He didn't do himself any favors. I watched it thinking the whole time that Saturday Night Live could've just used the video clip directly as a skit because the average person would find his behavior funny. Leaning away from the camera arms crossed wearing shades calling the president his enemy? I mean how cliche could he have gotten? Perfect material for a SNL skit...

When they start firing NFL players for saying and/or doing stupid things, I might actually care about the NFL again.

Yes there is still Freedom of Speech....just not Freedom of consequences. Players get fined for racial, anti-gay remarks etc...all the time, people in the real world lose their jobs for running off at the mouth ALL the time.....Most of the time it fall under the employee code of conduct that many companies have.

There is a reason that most forums, blogs, work places ...you name it frown on making poltical views known....It is just a lose lose place to be at.

Howard Stern, Don Imus all made statements that got them in hot water.....if you think they way a statement is made then you agree with what it said, if you oppose what is said then you dislike the comments and have a different view....WHO CARES?

HW Jr..has his beliefs, if yours are not the same ok, if your are ok......does it really matter.

Although I wouldn't compare him to Hitler... I can't wait till someone else is in office, and Soros has no influence. That being said, I say they put him on that program, because they knew he would say something controversial. They got what they wanted.

Hey, this just goes to show that keeping your mouth shut goes both ways. Tons of people got fired for saying way more relevant things about Bush. Honestly, why is this guy so mad at Obama? He is a rich musician, he should sing and not talk so much. They are just saying that football is not a place for politics and if he wants to talk about all this nonsense he can go talk to fox news. None of the espn people are outspoken for any party and they intend to keep it that way.

He was not on a football program... He just said what he thought. What about if he went on the "View" and said those remarks, would he have gotten fired? That's what shows like that talk about. Really, nothing he said was coherant, or even resembled an intelligent comment, but come on!
