No offense man, but it's hard to read a statement like that and not take that as bragging. Someone made a comment about men getting these cars because they think it will attract women. Then you instantly jump in stating not that you agree, and then making fun of guys like that, but instead talking about how you, personally, do not need a car to get chicks because "the girls come naturally" to you. I don't think anyone was singling you out, but you felt the need to talk about how you're quite the ladies man regardless of your ride. It's hard not to take a statement like that as bragging. So I could understand how she might take that as being childish because, well, it is.

I'm just saying it's hard to interpret things on the internet, so don't become so offended when someone takes offense to what you say.

Back on topic, I'm not a fan of the new Genesis' looks. The powertrain is awesome. But I think the Tiburon looked better than this. Too... I dunno... swoopy and soft looking for my tastes. Will probably be a hit with the ladies, but I think most males will look towards something a little edgier looking, like the Camaro . Just my opinion.

I've been researching the Genesis 3.8 Grand Touring HARD. I actually has a lot of little features that the Camaro SHOULD have. Like the rear parking sensor, illuminated vanity mirrors, electric trunk and gas door and a MUCH nicer interior.

But again, the 3 main things the Camaro has in its favor are

29mpg
OnStar
MUCH better looks.

But, I can walk into my local Hyundai dealer today and get a 3.8 Grand Touring for $26,500 (Antwerpen Hyundai has crazy deals!) which would be $5K less than I'm going to pay for my Camaro.

Decisions, decisions..

Seriously, I don't get into the pony car wars. I won't be revving engines at stop lights while shooting a steely glare at the car in the other lane. Was just never into that. More power to you if you are!

I just want a good pony car at a good price with some outstanding features. I don't have any loyalty to one or another.

I'm leaning Camaro about 55-45 right now. Mainly because I've been waiting for a while and I DO love the styling over the Genesis. But the Genesis has features that the Camaro SHOULD have and I can get it immediately.

It's mainly my patience being tested. I think I'll enjoy the Camaro more, but the Genesis is available to me NOW and it is a really good car from all the research I did.

EDIT: GAH! I can't get over the front end and the fact that it's a Hyundai!! Something in me won't let me buy a Hyundai sports car!

I owned a 00 elantra and put near 40k miles on it in 1 year and never had any problems with it. Yes they do give the appearence of being made with higer quality materials, include the features others make you pay for, a great warranty. But for me Hyundai cars are the type that you buy and run it till its dead because they are cheap and you get pretty nice features for little money. The thign I dont like the Genesis is the motor came out of a Van and well I will never own nor drive a Van and My wife thinks they are the worst thing you could do to a man. So No Van or Van motor for me.

Oh and I want my money to help our economy and the jobs locally not those of foreign nations... Srry if buying American might come across as being too Patriotic these days

Buy what you want. I served my country for 10 years in the military so my patriotism is beyond questions (I seriously don't think 99.99% of American actually know what patriotism is. They confuse jingoism with patriotism, but that's another story).

Again, it's my patience being tested. I was just thinking, the main reason now I'd wait for the Camaro is because I really, really, REALLY love OnStar! It's such and awesome service and I'd truly miss it....the best thing for me to do is just NOT visit a Hyundai dealership. My will would break...

At the end of the day if you bought a Camaro..you bought a legend. I don't see Hyundai's at Barret Jackson!! Resale value, and eventually appreciation value.

Low resale value is good for me, since I'll probably have to wait and buy a used one, which I will then keep until it goes to the junkyard.

I think the Camaro will be different..than say a cobalt or earlier Impala. I think this Camaro will be a collector down the road. Especially if Washington starts dictating what cars are allowed to be built. IMHO

The Genesis is MUCH sexier in person. Pictures don't quite capture it.
