What my ruca and I do together is our business, don't be airing it on the internet!

At my old apartment I had a seriously embarrassing neighbor. He was always standing outside on the phone screaming at his ex/baby's mama about child support, custody, etc. Not sure why he didn't have these conversations in the apartment, but he chose to have them outside on the regular. It made me thankful for a: not having kid drama, or kids in general b: not having drama like that in general. LOL!

At my new apartment, I don't have anyone that's really embarrassing... though the girl across the hall is a Steelers fan (ick) and the lady upstairs, I refer to her as Sasquatch because she stomps around as such.

Closest is across the road but other than that we have a lot of woods behind the house

LOL, I knew this was another Ivas thread just by the title. But I must say Ivas, I like the cut of your jib.

Anyway, I have one of those neighborhood busybody type neighbors that every neighborhood seems to have.

He never wears a shirt, is always chatting up the neighborhood wives when the husbands are at work, often has a beer in hand, and can never bother to get my name right. Nice guy though. He would help you with anything if you just ask.

Well most of my neighbors are pretty good people but this is a pretty funny story involving my family. The neighbor girl just got a brand new pet lizzard that was about 2 inches long from the pet store and she brought it over to show my 3 year old daughter. My daughter looks at it slaps it out of the neighbor girls hand and procedes to yell yuck as she stomps on it. It was the funniest damn thing i have ever seen besides for she just killed the neighbor girls pet. So i had to go out and buy her a new lizzard and some aquarium accessories to make it up to her.

Had a neighbor who was selling her house, and I knew a former co-worker was looking for a new place. Now the former co-worker is a neighbor, and I have double the embarrassment - not only are she and her husband hoarders (with junk spilling our of every opening the house has), but I'm the one who invited her into the neighborhood!! I had no idea when I told her about the house for sale....

Ladybug-- not like you could have ever known though. But I can see how you kind of feel responsible for them coming into the neighborhood. That hoarding thing would totally freak me out-- I've seen a couple episodes of that show and it's just sad that people let their homes get that way.

You should call the county about that though. It can get the point where it's a health hazard if they started getting rodents. The last episode of Hoarders I ever saw, the woman had dozens of dead cats throughout her house. She rescued many many cats and lost count... she had no idea they were dead. I almost had an anxiety attack.

Country folk here too, nearest neighbor down the slope has 7 cats, the old lady across from her has around 20 and is also a hoarder. She's in her 70s and fell off the ladder trying to fix her own roof (mobile home). Broke her leg and laid out there in 30 degree weather. Dennis went out to get wood and heard her yellin and hollerin, called the emt's, saved her old wrinkled ass. We've helped her and her kids clear out some of her junk but she just goes and finds more. The place is a health hazard. At least there's a big fire area cleared between her and the woods in case it all goes up in smoke.
Oh and there's fat mike down the road. He's another hoarder. They water their junk in hot weather so it won't catch fire. His big brown dog comes out and charges us when I walk or run my dogs by. I maced it right in front of him after he wouldn't get it off the road and when I informed him of this thing called "LEASH LAW". He got all pissy and told me I should move back to wherever I came from. I exploded on him, I've been here 20 years you fat f*** and you and all your trash can just move on back wherever the merry f*** you came from.
My husband dusts the heck out of him whenever he drives by in his old pickup and fat mike yells at him to slow down.
Gotta love neighbors. I've had lots crazier, so I'll stick with what I've got for now.

Never understood hoarders. I used to have a neighbor that did that too. It was a nice neighborhood in a new subdivision. You couldn't tell from the outside, but she invited me in one day because she signed for one of my FedEx packages, and was looking for it.

I couldn't believe what I saw in there. It was a 3000 sq ft 2 story house, with boxes of stuff, stacks of magazines, etc. etc. literally stacked almost to the ceiling in every room. There were just narrow pathways from room to room. It was really creepy.

I just don't get why anyone would want to live that way. I look for reasons to throw stuff out or take stuff to good will, not reasons to keep stuff.

My neighbors have sex with the window blinds half-open and all their bedroom lights on. I have pulled up a chair once or twice to enjoy the "show."

This event will set your teeth on edge. My apartment complex has separate buildings of six two bedroom units each having an interior staircase to the bedrooms on the second floor. There are 118 apartments all told.

About seven years ago we heard a nearby gunshot. I go out to investigate; the fifteen year old boy from the building ten yards distant was lying on the ground with his heart's blood geysering out of a hole in his chest. The gal in the apt. on my left joined me in trying to do something about this tragedy. She gave the kid CPR; I could see that nothing we could do would save a hole in the heart. The kid's mother then comes out and goes into a rolling-on-the-ground set of hysterics. It was painful to see and hear. The police and firemen came, but there was nought to do. The boy was dead as a hammer. The shooter was arrested within minutes; he too was fifteen. The killing was over "respect" amongst vatos (gangsta's). One had insulted the other by dissin' the first one's tag on the wall nearby. ¿Qué vida loca, no?

One reason why gangs are incredibly dumb and juvenile.
