^ That, if it is the upper area. I even showed a guy who asked me what was with the scratches. Swipe your knuckle down the door and white mark.
Lower part of the door would be from shoes, same as on the sill area.
I hate it too as I try my hardest to not hit anything with my shoes when I get in and out.

I use Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer and Cleaner at least once a week because this happens to my doors as well. Also works wonders if you get white marks anywhere else on the door, etc.

I just keep the bottle in the car with some cloths.

Mine too - permanent scratch from someone's shoe and it wasn't mine.

Waiting to find some way to restore the plastic, some OP mentioned there are people who go dealer to dealer doing this for a living.

You are right. I am very careful getting in and out. My other problem was the seat belt loop comming undone behind the seat. What I do now is make sure that the buckle stays out of it when I remove my belt. I slide it down before I let go of ot. Problem solved.
