Has anyone else dared to pick up Dark Souls? This game is actually great. I had doubts with it being an Action RPG. So many new elements I've never played before. It's all about strategy and precision, instead of todays button mashers...

I picked it up on release. The game is awesome. Even better than demons soul. With the introduction of covenants, it seems to get more in depth.

Heard good things about it, but unfortunately I have 2-3 other games that I am already prepping for .....will probably pick it up around Xmas tho..

Demon Souls, its predecessor was quite good..

I never played demon souls as I don't have a ps3, but this game is simply amazing. The difficulty is not in the cheap/gimmicky swarms of enemies, but in the strategy. When to rest, when to push on. Level up, or upgrade items/spells. Etc. I just took down Ceaseless Discharge (god that sounds awful) so it's on to the forest/garden area for me now. =)

I'm at soul lvl 42 now and game is still very addicting. The forest pvp is pretty awesome. :slice: Just got a few new high rated weapons/armor. Trying to see which ones fits my play style

my second toon will be a dex build. Gonna run with the Uchigatana and Iaito. Currently I my pyromancer is going on with a str build. I'm not sure if I want to up dex to 14 for the black knight sword. I'm still trying to figure out what weapon I will end up with eventually.

Any suggestions? I enjoy the sword/board set up with a good weapon I can two hand for the big damage.

The black knight sword does really good dmg. I'm actually using that right now, one hand or two depending on the situation. Also have lightning spear to switch to if I need a faster weapon on the fly. Gaping dragon also has a really strong axe that it drops but requires lots of strength. Then there's the great sword (forgot name) that you can get from Sir Wolf. I can't remember how to get that one right now, but I'm sure its online somewhere.

Well I just took down Smough and Ornstein. I didn't really go exploring too much in blighttown, but I have 50+ strength and a decent amount of end/vit and the Smough/Ornstein battle was tough solo. Zweihander +7 currently and I love it. It's faster than the axes or great swords. I need to go back to dragon covenant and grab the dragongreatsword from him and see if that's any better. Lightning spear is cool until you get to Anor Londo. the gargoyles drop their Demon spear which is better because it's lightning imbued and has nearly the same amount of attack power, plus IT SCALES!

Ah. I just got to anor londo. Blighttown was a pita. I would have to try the demon spear, it sounds really nice. I havent tried to use zweihander yet also since I got the black knight greatsword +4. I'm trying to get to the smith so he can forge my weapons with the bosses souls. Wondering if the true greatsword of artorias is any good.

Taintedveins - Imo, i would give this game an 8/10. It's hard at first, but you'd get used to the game mechanics. If you check the reviews on amazon, they're pretty dead on.

Never been a fan of ES, myself. I won't comment on that game since I don't know anything about it. I'll be getting MW3 probably, and battlefield is a maybe for PC. I won't be getting either for the multiplayer aspect. only game I find enjoyable online is Assassin's Creed.

AC is an absolute must have for me.
