Couple thoughts on this....

until 24#'s of boost the regular setup is fine with good tunning... HKE

Iron is more durable than aluminum, if the weight didnt matter my personal choice would be iron for boost...

THe RHS block is king of the hill no doubt... but at a huge cost.. the LSX block is about half the cost and the block we use 8 out of 10 times for FI engines looking to make 1000+ hp Our LSX 434 extreme is for just that

It comes down to budget as to what components you use.....

The thing thatg really seperates one engine from another is who built it, we all have access to the same parts...
If you have questions call me, at the least I can help you make an informed decision

I agree but i would think 16 psi wouldnt be an issue still. Plus you can get a ls3 converted to run a 6 bolt head its been done alot. Ive never met anyone that has found the limit to an ls3 block maybe someone here has?? Ive met alot of people who break pistons or rods or bolts etc... never seen someone break a ls3 block that was forged and built and machined right .I would be running after market heads if i was nearing 900 hp and yes they would be 6 bolt. just my preference to not put a heavy lsx block in my car since she is already to chubby now.

I dont know.. 125 lbs isnt a whole lot of extra weight when your pushing 800+ hp....
Yes its on the nose but things can be done to compensate for that.... better to be safe than sorry but we do have a large amount of Corvette customers who dont like the weight either.. Its not the PSI its the HP that 16 psi will make on a 416 cubic inch engine with goods heads and cammed correctly.

ipimpthisc if your looking to run 16 #'s then our 434 FI extreme is what you want.. cost is $7200 or we can use your block and knock $2250 off the cost... if you want to stay in aluminum

There are inherent differences to materials such as aluminum and iron.. both expand at different rates when heated up... aluminum block steel bearings....

I'm running 16 psi on a forged L99 block that Jannetty built last year. It's just eclipsed 100 1/4 passes for this year last weekend. I have had 0 issues. Honestly, the engine is the last thing I worry about.

I def respect Ted so I will also seek his advice on this when i am ready. I really dont want the added weight myself I prefer to stay with my stock block all thing considered.

I've decided on keeping the stock block. Bore, stroke and forged out to 416ci. You're running rear mounts? STS?

running rear mounts Ips full ball bearing GT 3586's, billet lite weight impellers, catless on ls9 bored out injectors and a boost-a-piump...fuel is my limiting factor..my tuner...Tune Time Performance has done wonders with the set up. Far from a dyno queen they have me at a modest 620 on a mustang dyno with 9 psi and a conservative tune. On a dyno jet u can add at least 50 hp easy from those numbers so that would be 670 - 680 rwhp. I am also custom cammed with dual VS , hardened push rods, retainers etc.... so my heads are good. Its quiet a street mannered set up that about 2500 rpm becomes a beast. I love it but just am getting ready for more. I have to say the IPS turbos are bar none the best , and my tuner is great on performance and price. I am sure he has opinions on how to go , but I am just keeping my options open

Mr. Matt knows what the f*#k he is doing. Thats for sure. What's his input on all of this? I would let him do whatever HE thinks is best. Its essentially his car as well. His name is on it so I'm assuming he'd like to tune something he's 100% for.

He gets the last word... i just like to browse around. He is a master at what he does, and recognized in many circles. Not only is he a good builder/tuner, he is a very honest and cool person over all. Glad you recognized

Ha! Thanks but it's not that hard. I'm sure you'll be able to do it.
