My vote is for First Generation

I vote for First Generation. Original Owner of 1967 Camaro RS that I bought for $3,000 in August of 1967. 246,000 Miles later I am still in love with it.
Now I am waiting for a Fifth Generation, 2010 2SS, RJT that I ordered in October.

The second-generation, I grew up around them. I know almost everything about the later ones (1978-1981), so if anyone has a question - shoot me a PM.

1) Second generation
2) First generation
3) Third generation
4) Fourth generation

Myself I love the 1st gen. SS/RS or the '69 Z/28 with the 302...(that's what I voted), now that was one hell of a car, as a Camaro owner I bought the 3rd gen. back in 1989 since I couldn't find a 1st gen at the time...but my 3rd gen. grew on me after time and it is a sleek looking ride (low & wide) with great handling but a dog for a motor, the thing that really drew me to this car was the T-Tops and back in 1989 when I bought it for only $7500.00 the car ws 4 years old and I am the 2nd owner...now 20 years later I still love this car and it puts a smile on my face everytime I get in and go for a cruise!

Man we gotta stop reminiscing. It makes me want to lament the Firebird's demise. I am definitely one of those people fbodfather refers to as a "firebird friend." I've never owned a Camaro, only birds and fieros. I had a 77 Formula that was probably the most reliable car I ever owned. Sure the Pontiac 301 was so anemic it was laughable (135 BHP!!!) but the Hurst 4 speed and baby blue 1970s interior made that car just an unforgettable, iconic ride. I also had an 82 Trans Am with (people debate m on this claim's authenticity but I assure you it is true) the rare WS6 package which back then consisted of rear disc brakes, fatter sway bars and a beefier torque arm. In many ways, I liked the way that car handled better than my dad's 97 TA WS6 Vert, even though the 82 was a squeaky, rattly bucket of bolts. I'm willing to kiss my sister and buy GM's new F-car though. Mostly because it's so unbelievably awesome in every way. And I've always thought that the F in F body was because of the Firebird.

I liked the 4th through 1997, I did not care for the front fenders on the '98-'02. I owned all but the 1st as I was too young. I think the 4th with the LT1 and LS1 were the quickest [ Until the 5th of course.] That being said all generations had some beautiful and fast models.

2nd gen. IMHO

I loved seeing that version of "Grumpy's Toy" hoisting the front wheels up at Englishtown.

Former Rides:
1966 Chevelle (1971 to 2007)
1970 Chevelle (1974 to 1991)

Next Ride: 2SS/RS RJT Auto Black Rally Stripes 20" Polished Wheels

I voted 3rd generation just because I think that was the best looking generation. IROCZs still turn my head. Put the 5th generation motor and 6 speed in the third generation and that would be the perfect camaro for me.

Love all generations, but would love to have a fully restored 1992 Z28 sitting in my driveway. The third gens were actually the last generation that was truly affordable when they came out. That might have attributed to the "mullet" image, but it gave a lot of people a chance to drive a fun car. Plus the TPI motors are rock solid with tons of torque.
