What exactly is "IT" the ZL1 is bringing to the table that the GT500, SRT8, and CTS-V are not?
Except, the CTS-V has the same engine, and a far superior interior, so asking the same price IS ridiculous! Also even though a 7:41 IS world class, it isn't close to a 7:22! So to ASSUme it should be in the ball park of a Zo6 is just absurd

and this IS the exact reason that guys who can afford a porsche (911, Turbo) or even a BMW (M5 or M6) will NEVER buy a camaro no matter how respectable its ring times are or the horsepower...at the end of the day it's still a camaro. Oh this is coming from a guy who wants to order a ZL1 so dont flame me i'm not a hater (last car was a C6)...I'm just a realist folks.

I doubt anyone was thinking $45k. But we are hoping low 50s. Fingers crossed.

There is no way it going to be a 65K car, the CTS-V is a 63K car and beats the ZL1's interior in every way imaginable
Some dudes on this Forum I think they just pull numbers out of their @$$ because they honestly don't have a clue.

52-57k for a hard top, anything more and they will lose sales.

Yeah. Most basic model probably $57, start adding GFX, RS, sun-roof, et al.

I still recall someone at a dealership telling me in Canada anyone will be lucky to get one for $80k, I don't doubt that statement at all. Especially, those that can't wait a few months to place an order are going to pay a premium.

Even the APA will say they don't have any information because those vehicle (like Corvettes) sell for a premium here. In the US probably will be able to get a more fair price.

I don't care how much it is I just don't want to have to pay over sticker to get the ZL1. I agree if it is close to the same price as a GS I might go with the GS and just mod the hell out of it to get the same HP. I'm thinking base will be about $55,000 and if it is I will put all the goodies on it and be around $58,000 to $60,000 and call it a day. I will not pay over sticker.

I couldn't agree with you more, if the ZL1 starts getting too close to the Corvette price range, it will just be more of a reason to go ahead a get the Vette, the GS will still beat the ZL1 around a track.

If you honestly think that a stock Vette with a Grand Sport package (GS) will beat the ZL1, you might want to go back and re-read that information. The GS package is only the Z06 body and Z51 brake package put together on a standard 435HP Vette. If you want to beat the ZL1, then you have go to a true Z06 or ZR1 or start modifying the stock GS with a S/C.

I had a dream two nights ago that the base MSRP was $54,995.

I've never dreamt about a car in my life - I need to stop coming on here

However, if the price I dreamt about turns out to be true, I would like to request a name change to Nostradamus

The Zo6 beats the ZL1 around the Nurburgring by TWENTY SECONDS! That is a HUGE amount of time, I'm sorry, I like the ZL1 and HOPE they don't ruin it by charging too much for it, but the ZL1's performance is MUCH closer in line with the GS than a Zo6. Come ON PEOPLE the ZL1 weighs A THOUSAND POUNDS MORE than the ZO6 What are you guys even thinking?

Now that we have the exact Options list (which most of us assumed weeks ago on this forum) it would be nice to have prices to go with those options before ordering. For example, I want the exposed CF hood but if it's some ridiculous amount of $$, I will say "nevermind"...would be nice to know before ordering though.
