I absolutely love mine. You have the L99 so when the AFM kicks in you will hear it every time, unless you get it disabled. The drone is there but I think the sound of the exhaust makes up for everything else. Here's mine...

another trick is if you are at speed, say 45-50, you can down shift from 6 to 4th then back to 5th in sport mode, bye bye AFM..as long as you stay in manual mode.

Most people complain that when the AFM kicks in, it sounds like a coffee can on a 4 cylinder Honda... It doesn't. Trust me. I have a 4 cylinder with an exhaust on it. It's just very noticeable when it does it, and it kicks in pretty often..a lot more then you'd think. The easy fix is always shifting or doing the downshift and upshift trick.

BTW, the the American thunder cat back kit sounds great! not too loud. I was disappointed with the sound when you get on it, but this is how the car should have came stock. Of course, I've had some naysayers tell me "Dude, Borjla is where it is at for the new Camaro's... Flowmaster is 1980's technology"... but I've always fun Flowmasters and I guess I'm a creature of habbit.

I personally never cared for FlowMasters in the past because it seemed like most Moostang and 1/2 ton pickup owners have them and hearing the same sound over and over became very annoying. But with the way the FlowMaster AMT system sounds on the Camaro it make is "just right".

The axle back sounds different then the catback right? The catback sounds more deeper and grisly than the axle back. Is it me or I'm I right?

IMO there is minimal drone and the little bit that there is, is negligible. The system comes with band clamps that work great. There is no need to weld.

I had Flowmaster AT cat-back on my 2010 L99 SS, sounds great. Only thing is that annoying AFM - it's amplified and noticeable. I got around it by selling the car and buying the manual 2SS/RS with the LS3.

SamSS – Thanks for posting the video. It sounds great! You should enter our Show Us You Flows video contest!

We award weekly prizes of T-shirts and hats. We also give away free exhaust systems and a trip to Winternationals, US Nationals, etc. For more details on prizes and how to enter the contest, click: SUYF Contest

Cpanthers85 – Thanks for being a loyal Flowmaster customer! When exhaust technology works and you like the sound, there’s nothing wrong with sticking with it.

NavyDood – We’re glad you like the sound of Flowmaster exhaust on the new Camaro.

xSNEEKSx – Both the Cat-Back and Axle-Back American Thunder systems are aggressive. The Cat-Back is a 3” system, so it will inherently be a little more aggressive than the Axle-Back.

Hi there, I just installed my american thunder 3 inch cat back on my 2010 L99 and it really sounds awesome!!
Question to people who already have it, does it become louder with time? (mine on my past car did).
I really love the sound but I feel like I would have liked a LITTLE louder...
For people wondering, it has no drone and the sound when AFM kicking in is not that horrible...of course, would be better without it...

I've had mine on for about two months, and it hasn't gotten louder with time... well it might in the next month when I add headers and high flow cats . lol

After reading through all the posts here, I think everyone has a different opinion. I think it comes down to the setup you have. Seems like if your only doing a cat back. Drone isnt to bad, but if you do full exhaust (LT headers, no cats, fm cat back ) drone is pretty bad a crusing speed. Other than the drone, I love the sound of my flowmasters.
