My receipy for many years:

Change my oil before storing and when the car goes out again.

Most important is to ad some Stabil in the thank. This will prevent varnish formation in the injectors. Just run the car a few miles before storing.

Do not start the engine at anytime during storage.

Put additional air presure up to 42 pounds in the tires.

I only disconnect the positive battery pole in the engine bay and use a Battery Booster to help the spring start up. This way all electronics memories will stay put.

You also culd use a battery tender to keep it charged up, but that is an option for me.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY KEEP THE TRUNK COVER OPEN SO TO ACCES THE BATTERY. THERE IS NO KEY TO OPEN THE TRUNK COVER....

And if there are chance of mice invasion: I suggest put steel whool in the muffler tips and a lot of fabrick softner sheets in the engine bay around the wires and also a few in the car itself. Keep moisture scent away also.

That's my .02 cents.

My mistake You still can open the car doors with the key and open the hood afterwards. I did confuse with the trunk opening where there is no key to open. Sorry.
I corrected my text.

Marine, Green colored. More concentrated and helps with the ethanol.

If you plan on storing a car for the whole winter and not start it. It is good to loosen all the rocker arms so there is no tension on the springs.

We get alot of Vette's with broken valve springs in the springtime.

Really, never heard of that.

I was going to drive mine to dinner tonight, but they salted the road less than a mile from the house, DAMN!

Put up for the winter, oil & filter changed, full tank of gas with additive, washed and covered, I should move South NC or SC. Winters in New England are to long.

I don't get you guys. It's a new car. As long as the roads are dry why not drive it a little in the winter ? I've always put my old antique cars away in the winter, but a new car ?
MY SS is still like new after 2 1/2 years and I've never put it in storage.
I've now got all season tires on the Camaro plus I kept a daily driver, but my SS is just to much fun to put away for 3-4 months. IMO of course.

I just don't want to drive it with all that sand and especially SALT on the roads. As long as the roads are clear, I see no problem, but salt wreaks havok on everything, and I'd rather not put my car through that. That's the reason for a winter beater.

As for storage, last year I just threw a cover on it. This year I may put it in a storage unit.
