Question Replacing the trunk weather stripping channel

My friend and I were moving some hardware to his house and one of the things we had to move was a 100lbs. lo-pro floor jack. I'm not the strongest of people so I asked for his help in getting the jack into the trunk. So, as we're lifting the jack into the trunk my friend accidentally lets one of the jack's wheels nip the edge of the trunk weather stripping channel/frame/whatever you want to call it. I subsequently removed the weather stripping to check for a dent, but thankfully it would appear as though I got lucky. I even posted a picture of the area in question so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

****NOTE: I DID NOT ACTUALLY SUFFER DAMAGE. I'M JUST POSING A QUESTION.****

This, however, got me thinking. If any such damage occurred to the channel, how would you go about replacing it? I've seen on some sites that a person will either use new materials to mimic its shape, or cut off the required area from a donor car. Can you do this for these cars? Thanks. Btw, here's my trunk with the stripping removed so you can see what I'm talking about:

If it were dented it could easily be straightened to the correct shape. Simply remove the rear fascia to gain the best access to both sides and heat / hammer back to shape. Crushed in from a collision would require more work but still could easily have a new section put in place.

next time, put "mustang" or Camaro V6 vs. SS in the title and you will get 100 instant replies.
