I realize that I am not going to set any land speed records, LOL but any improvements in HP I want to be reliable, and usable. It is good to know that so many people have did these mods with a certain success and even though mine is cammed with hearders this may be something that I can do reasonably safe. I looked at the 427 thing, gear swap, and F/I and I am always looking for peoples experiences....true you have to take everything with a grain of salt because sometime people do not want to tell the bad and all you hear is the good...but overtime you kinda get a feel for what is going on especially when you are a noob. The axle upgrade is kind of a no brainer and sounds like a great deal to me.

The other thing is, I'd make sure you let the vendor know of your existing cam and make sure it's blower friendly..
Other than that, it seems like you've got a good handle on the situation and with what you're looking to get, honestly, any of the major FI systems out there would make you happy. -- I'm guessing you've already read through the long thread over Turbo vs S/C and then the differences people see with butt dyno between PD/Centry? |

I do have a cam which would increase mine a bit and maybe require a BAP on mine. I was told that adding the S/C to my car would get me roughly 100 or so RWHP....But I am like you Chris....SAFE and SOUND.....

Usually when you ask questions people get offended like you are questioning their car but this discussion is great and provides alot of knowledge. Every build has it's Pro's and Con's and of course S/C people think theirs is the best and Turbo people think their is the best etc....... I checked out Huffers build and it turned out great, well after the meth thing got fixed, but he seems to like it...BUT he wants to go somehere I will not attempt .....high 9's low 10's. I wasted money on cams early on not really knowing what I wanted and I guess is the reason I am looking at all the different options, the reality of doing each one and the possibilities( Problems) of doing them. Chris's car Thr.....to me is pretty tame modded.....makes good power, drives good and is pretty safe and reliable and is more like my car , M6......I know he drives it spirited but really doesn't BEAT on it that I know and it is lasting going on 3 years now.

I like my Maggie on top of my 427 LSX with 15# of boost and a direct port 375 shot.

You can not go wrong with Lingenfelter. The confidence that their work/reputation gives you allows you to enjoy your new HP without worrying about it blowing the engine- especially with the what you get with that particular package. It is expensive- but worth every penny. Now back to the original OP's question from 1.5 years ago (Pete digging up old, but great thread): I'd say driving wise, the one difference for me was the suspension mods done in order to help keep the tires on the pavement and provide better performance with road coarse racing. Anytime you lower your car with springs, you are bound to get a stiffer/bumpy'r ride. It is noticeable. Do NOT expect to feel like you are driving a Cadillac. But I would still modify the suspension-traction is a must.
