My 1st choice would be the Stainless steel works chambered exhaust IMHO it sounds the best but that exhaust runs $1200ish I have the Flowmaster exhaust on mine I love it price was under $400

As far as I know, and correct me if I'm wrong, the exhausts most of you guys are shouting about won't work on the 2012's.

I haven't gotten one yet, but for axle-back MRT all the way. I myself am looking for a cat-back exhaust. I like SOLO, but worry about the j-pipes as well as it's not made from 304 stainless, but instead 409 stainless so I am leaning towards the Corsa or ARK cat-back. All three are great cat-back exhaust options.

Axlebacks work with the 2012's but the catbacks wont work. 2012's has one header so it's one pipe spitting off into 2 pipes! Also because of this it may give off a different sound compared to the LLT's (2010-2011)! I seen one LFX owner slap on a pair of MRT's in another thread!

Worried about the J-pipes? Why. The J-pipes are your friend in killing drone. You can't see them. Non issue IMO. Now your other concern is valid.

Corsa's sound great as do the ARK's. From an overall quality standpoint, ARK is in a class by itself.

I installed my own MRT 2.0. Then took it to the people who built it and had them weld it on.

I have had many members on this and other Forums say this is one of the best sounding systems they have heard and by far the best sounding MRT 2.0 system.

Take a listen for yourself. Listen to these thru some headphones or ear buds.

Here is a few videos for you:

This one is from inside my Camaro on the way to the dragstrip

This one is from inside my Camaro while at the dragstrip. Sorry about the Camera tipping.

This one is one that SCRMNG filmed for me while we were at the dragstrip. the last 30 seconds is me on a single pass.

This last clip is one that danrc28 put together when visiting me to hear a MRT 2.0 system. He went from Toronto to Florida and back stopping along the way picking up sound bytes. The video starts off with outside rev's, then an on ramp full throttle run, then an acceleration run from inside while talking about drone. Tape finishes with me passing the camera on the highway doing 3rd gear runs. Which has not been recorded by anyone else using the MRT (or at least I am not aware of anyone with this type of recording.) (rcat's)

Or can i use anything?
It being a vert is your real challenge. Make sure you call the manufacturer so make sure any exaust you pick fits the vert.

I worry about the j-pipes I guess because I am not used to seeing them on an exhaust as well as afraid it might melt the rear plastic. I know the j-pipes help with the drone. I am just unsure of them since I've never had them before or seen them before on any exhaust.

I heard an exhaust last night I loved! So I decided on the ARK exhaust. I want the N-II slant tips, but worried about sound after BBK LT w/High-Flow cats because the N-II doesn't have resonators. The DTS ARK exhaust has resonators, but I don't like the tips. I prefer the slant tips.

What problems does 409 stainless have?

409 will eventually rust and turn color no matter how you care for it. SOLO is made from a mix of 409 and 304 (some parts are 304 and some parts are 409). Where as Corsa and others are made from ONLY 304.

I was at my dealer today to get a part replaced, sitting in the service bay waiting. I was next to an orange RS V6....and the owner hopped in and started it up. WOW. I was quite taken back, and listened to him pull out at a slow speed. Really nice LOW end exhaust, didn't sound like some Euro or Pacific import. Again really impressed. The guy drove around to the customer entrance and I pulled up to ask what he had under that engine....it was the MRT V 2.0. He also said he had a cold air intake, but the sound of the MRT V 2.0 really got my attention. It has that low note you WANT and none of the slappy high pitch sound so common in the other mufflers for this engine. I never heard the MRt V 2.0 on the V6, and I hate it on the V8. Go figure. So, now I need to find a set for the wife's car! All the research I've been doing and along came this.....again, very impressed and I'm a Flowmaster guy!!
